Why Are The Rebates Different?

Why are the rebates and prices so much different on a Silverado LTZ vs. Sierra SLT. I am comparing option for option in both trucks with almost identical MSRP's and there is about $6,000 - $7,000 difference in price. I really want the SLT All Terrain, but can't justify that much difference.

You should be able to get at least $5000 to $7000 off of MSRP right now. I think they still have the 16% off going on now for GMC.

Some of the rebates seem to depend on how long the truck has been on the lot.

If the dealer your talking to has had the chev longer that might be the reason.

I was in your situation and went with a Silverado LTZ for that reason. It had better rebates and the it was in the color I wanted. The LTZ came more loaded than the SLT I looked at (heated steering wheel, heated/cooled seats, power rear sliding window, etc).

Here is a price comparison according to GM on their websites, which are terrible and unreliable.

Weird the Silverado is showing more of a rebate, and also I cannot figure out where that extra $500 for options is coming for on the Sierra as I clicked the exact same options for both trucks.

Rebates for GMC are only on leftover '15s I believe.

I was just shopping as well and the Chevs had MUCH better rebates than the GMCs, at least on the 2500s.

Marketing I guess makes GMCs appear more high end and they don't need to offer those discounts as much or as often.
