Now that I understand Intellibeam, I really like it

At first I was a little confused on the operation of the Intellibeam feature on the headlights of my new truck. However, after some experience it is a simple system to use and performs very well once activated. Driving along country roads it will brighten / dim the lights without any input and actually acts as fast or faster than I would if performing the action manually. Only thing is I wish it would work with the foglights on but I guess GM is uncertain about its performance isnfoggy conditions.

Fogs must be off and lights in auto for it to work. A lit 'A' icon will be shown on the dash. If the icon is not shown, simply brighten / dim the lights manually once and it will turn on. From there just drive and do nothing and it will handle the rest. If any time you want the system off, just pull the stalk / flash brights and it will be deactivated (or turn on the fogs).

I have also noticed that the system will auto dim the lights when coming to stop, or going around a curve.

If you have the chance to buy the option, I recommend it.

Intellibeam only activates above 25mph. When on, it will deactivate below 12mph.

Not sure why it's deactivating on a curve. Possibly bright reflectors along the curve?

I haven’t figured out how to activate mine. Yes, I’ve read the manual. I had the light switch in auto mode and pressed the button at the end of the stick in low and on high beam but it doesn’t seem to activate on a dark country road with no oncoming traffic. There has to be one small thing that I’m missing...

You have to flip the stalk twice from low to high beam it will activate you will see the A in the cluster.

I like it on my truck except I wish it wouldn't turn the brights on under 35 mph. Bright lights come on on a lot of city streets.

Move the turn signal arm from low to high (forward/lock-HIGHs-ON), and right back to low, no delay in the movement.  You only have to move it the one cycle to activate or deactivate it.

I don't care for it, but they don't need to be on until above 35MPH, like you said.  I would like for them to drop to low at 35, as well, but they currently drop at about 10-15MPH or less.

I approached a stop light, one night, with the Intellibeams ON, and the "GREEN" lights triggered my lights to back to low.  HOWEVER, the red lights, just as bright, did not trigger them down to low, they dropped when I slowed to 10-15MPH.
