Hit A Deer (Actually, deer ran into my truck)

Came out of nowhere, ran smack into the side of my truck. Got the driver side rear door and huge dent in side of the bed. Not a mark in the paint. OK, that's my rant.

PS - And to make matters worse, I had just touched up couple nicks and given the truck a waxing about 2 weeks before. Should've left it dirty and nicked.

That's too bad. You might be lucky though - the damage should be repairable.

I whacked a deer with mine when it was new - had about 800 miles on the ODO, was pulling the camper on the first 5 mile leg of a 4000 mile, 2-week camping trip. Cost me a headlight housing ($800)

I know of a '14 Silverado that hit a deer and needed $18,000 in repairs.

Out here in NM, most of the open space is what's called "open range" now if you hit a damn cow, not only do you wreck your truck but you have to pay for the cow too...a friend of mine hit a calf and he reported it, got a bill from the rancher a few weeks later for $1000.

Easily repairable. They're going to put a door skin on the rear door and replace the left bed panel. I would have thought the bed would be replaced as a unit, but apparently not, just the panel.

I had a deer run right into the drivers door one morning, scared the crap out of me when I looked over and saw it coming. Antler left a dig along the entire body and than it bent up the rear wheel well corner and tore off a splash guard.

I had a deer run into my driver's door. Had to get the shell replaced. Dang thing ran off I was going to finally kill my first deer Insurance covered the work that needed to be done. The amount of damage and the fact that the crash bar or whatever it's called in the door was bent so bad doesn't give me much assurance safety wise.
