Autumn bronze metallic

Absolutely. In photos it looks like whatever lighting there is at that particular point, but as you move around it changes.

All day today I saw plum when I was driving because it was overcast, but after i parked the sun came out and I saw an amber color on it in the parking lot.

frankly, as someone who has always had white, silver, and pewter vehicles its a refreshing change.

I just picked up my ABM truck on Friday.

It was the only one they had on the lot. It's beautiful! The color changes based on lighting, a brownish color, other times an amber, still others a reddish or even plum. (and at night, black/grey.)

I'm really going to like this color!

It came with the tan interior. After seeing 95%+ of these trucks with black.. its a refreshing break from the norm. I'l have pics as soon as I can get to my camera.

The color is amazing, and it's what caught my eye when I first saw the truck on the lot at 7:15am the day I went looking. Haven't seen one with a tan interior and I personally prefer the black/charcoal because it can hide dirt better, but I'd love to see pics of the tan interior.

The ABM/Mahogany looks much better in person than photos. Think the avg person needs to see the color out in the sun to really appreciate it.

Yep, photos don't do it justice, at all.

Here's my baby. Got her back in March.

Man, i really don't see a lot of these trucks out. It's a pity, and a good thing! My Ram was Deep Cherry Red and it became fairly common. But this color? Not so much.

I dont understand why. I love the way it sparkles in sunlight.

My 2nd choice was crimson red metallic.

in 20 years our kids might call it "that sparkly poop brown truck you used to have" though..

Haha they might. But i do love all of the brown/tan colors. And dark green. If they had a 2016 in a dark green i probably would have got that instead :/. Both colors are lovely

So, I was reading last night that in 2017 this color is no longer available.

So its a 2016 only color?

I wonder why?

I've never seen GM only run a color for a single year before.

Idk, man. But i NEVER saw this color ANYWHERE. Maybe 2 times since January, to my knowledge.

Anyone put any matte black accessories or wheels on their ABM truck? Debating swapping everything silver, IE: wheels, for matte black wheels, getting black nerf bars, and possibly a black bowtie, but I'm not entirely sure how it will look.

I feel like it would look pretty awesome, honestly. I've thought about it as well. The sheriff's office in the next county uses brown cars and some of their cars have the black rims and I think it's an awesome look. If you decide to do it, make sure to post pics! I've been seriously considering it, too.

if you have 18" split spokes you can get matte and gloss black wheel skins and give it a shot.

I've considered it but.. I'm not going to do anything I dont think.

If I had the chrome bumper/grill and not the color-matched ones, I wouldn't, as I think the silver wheels looks great and black ones would look a little odd.

I may give the wheel skins a shot, depending on cost and durability versus the cost of OE replicas in matte black.

The only real downside to this color is that there isn't really a whole lot you can do with it :/

If you have the chrome bumpers, than I think you'd want to stick with primarily that, but with some black accents. For the color-matched, like I have, I'm going to go with a matte black for things as that matches the back bumper, the bottom of the mirrors, etc.

    • I find it amusing the OP doesn’t realize this threads heading includes several engines. He should have posted in the off topic section if he wanted a more narrow focus. I really appreciate and find amusing that he actually pointed out one of my many vehicles. The Odyssey. That happens to use 0-20 oil. I love pushing his buttons.
    • Maybe, but it seems he is the only one that has backed up data to prove what he is stating. I think he is doing this more because he enjoys it and wants to get the information out to us. He's got the knowledge and access to the proper equipment and having the funds doesn't hurt.  I would love to do what he is doing and would do it if and when I hit the Powerball.  I'm not a Tribologist by any means but love to learn what I can.   I would bet there would be doubting people out there if a completely independent lab with high quality work and highly respected in the automotive industry, put out information like this.  The world can't be pleased, one just has to take the information that they are given, do more of their own research to find actual lab data to back up what they are trying to figure/find out.  Most don't bother, they just want to believe what they first see.     I don't have the minimax but my 6.2 in my 2019 Silverado with 64k miles shows excellent UOA results with 0w-20 and for my own purposes 5w-20.  Since not much of a change using 5w. I liked the data sheet information on the SS 5w-20 and figured I would give it a try.  Still the same viscosity at 100℃.   In the end we all just do what makes us happy, life is too short to get upset over trivial social media.   On a side note, I do feel GM has dropped the ball and just cares about the bottom dollar and not quality anymore.  "Like a Rock" has been long gone.  Seems "Built Ford Tough" has as well.
    • Better than stock but that's like putting lipstick on a pig
    • Hello, my 3 month old Sierra Elevation wont recognize a trailer with electric brakes? All the lights work correctly, but no power to the brakes?   This is the factory installed brake controller. If you manually push the knob, the display shows the power % but does not light up like my 2022 silverado.   I have an appointment with the dealer, but was checking to see if anyone else has seen this issue.    Thanks,
    • Been using SS 0w-20 from new, but wanted to change to the 5w-20 because I liked the data on the data sheet, to me it seems like a little better product. But as you can see, not much difference. This is also with running a mix of 10 gallons E85 to a tank topped with 93. It isn't a flex fuel vehicle so any higher I get a CEL for running lean on both banks. Yes my mileage takes a hit. Instead of 20 mpg I normally get on trips I get 17mpg. This is also using EaO17 filter.  What is amazing is I have the AMSOIL cone filter on it since I have the GM Performance intake installed and that air filter has 44k miles on it.  I just take it out and shop vac it off once a year.  I use the upholstery tool on my shop vac.  Works well.
