thoughts on your 2016?

Just picked up a Sierra with a 6.2. The mileage is great for brand new, already beats 2 of the 3 5.3's I have/had. Man, 420 HP is cool. It's a bit lazy and a tune would help but smash the pedal and it gets over it. Fit and finish is a huge upgrade over previous platforms. Tech is cool, almost seems too much. Ride is a little rough but handling is great. Wish I could turn the stabilitrak off and it stayed off. Wireless charge is nice. Visibility beats Ram and Ford.

Anyone have the Android connection yet? Is that out?

I have about 900 miles on my '16 LTZ with the new 5.3L 8 speed combo and this is by far the quietest of the 3 extended cab GM trucks I've owned over the past 15 years. No wind noise or squeaking from the doors at all. Interior is laid out well and comfy. The Infotainment screen for the radio does not display enough favorites unless you swipe up but then it blocks out the artist info, small annoyance. Haven't noticed any of the poor reception issues but then again haven't been far outside the metro area yet. I see the Android Auto update is available and plan to get that done soon.

Ride and handling are about the same as my 08 but the nice thing about the electric power steering is it's much easier to steer at stop/low speeds and automatically tightens up with more speed. The stock tires are the Continental CrossContacts which are car tires and IMO look funny with the 20" wheels. I wish I'd have had them changed for something different at the dealer and gotten the credit for them.

The 5.3L Ecotec has power to spare but coupled with the 8 speed I've noticed it is much happier when hooked up to a load. When it's not and with city driving, it's always shifting and sometimes seems to be trying to shift into too high of a gear and lugs the engine somewhat. It was worse when the truck was new and is getting better with mileage and "learning" my driving habits. Towing a 4000 lb boat is easy as pie and the truck does very well. The V4 mode stays on much more and even when accelerating at slower speeds...08 never did that. I don't like the V4 feeling or sound and plan to disable it with my diablosport tuner as soon as they get all the '16 updating done. So far, love the truck.

While detailing the truck earlier, I found several spots of dirt in the paint. Lovely. My '08 had a spot on the passenger door which resulted in the door being repainted. I don't want to have to go that route again.
