thoughts on your 2016?

So, I've had my truck since January, and now have 3,474 miles on it. To me, the truck is rides so much better than my Ram. And oddly enough, with the exception of heated seats and steering wheel, i have more amenities. And my Ram was a Big Horn, and my Silverado is an LT All Star Edition. I enjoy how "basic" the truck looks on the outside, my Ram had so much chrome, and the chrome just looked "heavy" and non-appealing. I enjoy th Autumn Bronze Metallic. What is everybody's thoughts on their truck, and how does it compare to your previous vehicle? Are there any regrets about your purchase? Or anything you wish you would have added, but didn't?

Love everything about my truck. All it needs is coilovers, tires and a tune.

Love mine! Just picked up a 2016 that is almost 100% identical to my 2014. Same color, options, everything! Definitely enjoying these new Sierra headlights WAY more than the 14 though.

I am coming from a F350 SRW diesel and bought a LTZ . The ride and interior comfort is great . It drives like a nice car.

I thought the mileage would be better . I'm getting on average of 16 mpg with a 2 wd and I drive conservatively. It may get better it only has 750 miles on it. I haven't towed or put it to work yet .

I am enjoying everything about mine. I only have 650 miles on it but it rides so much better than my 2014 Silverado did. Both truck are almost identical color and options, only difference is my 2016 has the 6.2 in it...best decision I ever made.

I enjoyed my 99 which was an LT(middle of the road back then). My 08 was an LT2(again middle of the road), and it had even more creature comforts than the 99 and rode smooth and moved out nicely with the Blackbear Tune. The 16 is smooth, comfortable, has even more bells and whistles even being an LT2, and gets great mileage. No complaints thus far.

Thanks for the replies, guys! The only thing I do dislike about my LT, is how easily nicks show up. In Virginia, we had several bad snows, and I have a few little nicks along the front of the truck. Hardly noticeable, but the dark paint makes them easier to see! But oh well. Do you all have the 5.3?(with the exception of the fellow with the 6.2) Working for a company that manufactures OEM engine bearings, I'm very comfortable driving my Silverado, haha. I think I'm going to leave mine stock for the most part, but I MAY add an inch to the front, just for a little extra ground clearance!

My intentions always say "I'm going to leave it stock"...we'll see how long that lasts.

But in my defense I do have a JKU that I can mod to my hearts content.

That why I have an an appointment to cover my whole front end in the Xpel paint protection film. I learned the hard way with my last All Terrain about the paint chips.

I have almost 1500 miles on my '16 Silverado 1500 LT z71 crew cab and I love it. I had a '13 Ram and an '09 Silverado prior to this truck. The ride of this truck is so solid and smooth compared to the Ram and much quieter. I've hand calculated 3 fill ups and I'm averaging 17.7 mpg, can't complain about that with the 5.3. My best 50 mile average shown in the dash is 22 mpg, but I have yet to do a full 50 miles of straight highway so I should be able to beat that number.

I'm coming from a Ram also but I like the ride of my 09 Ram better. The Sierra ride feels firmer, not harsh but not quite as comfy. Also the Sierra steering feel is heavier. These may be attributed to 4WD, Z71 and off road suspension, which I do not plan on going off pavement. Other that that, I love it

My first Silverado was a '99 Ext. Cab Z71 that I got rid of in 2002 and I was longing to have a pick up again. In Februray I went from an all but fully loaded '12 Dodge Durango R/T to the '16 Silverado CCSB LT All Star 4X4 and I've got about 1200 miles on it. About the only thing I wish I had differently was the 3.42 gears, the 3.08s seem a big sluggish accelerating from a stop. It came with the Dueller H/T tires, which I've got mixed feelings on. They seem OK in rain and snow, but look sorta out of place on a full size truck. Other than that, I love the truck so far as I'm averaging about 3-4 more MPG than the Durango I came from.

I have about 400 miles on my 16 LTZ Z71 SIlverado, love it so far coming from an 02 LTZ Trailblazer, the only thing I miss so far is the rain sensor form my Trailblazer... Drives/rides a lot different than that obviously, still getting used to the gas pedal delay on this one but I'm sure it'll come around. I already swapped the stock 20's out for Sierra All-Terrain 20s, I really like the way they look on the Chevy's.

When I first got in my sierra I thought something was wrong with the steering... Lol.

Came from this

To this :

I'm the last brand loyal guy there is and I tell it like it is....

The bad:

Transmission. I'm coming from a 13 2500 ram hemi with a lift and 37" rubber. This 16 shifts terribly. It's like it can't make up its mind and when it does is hard shifting.

Paint. Terrible. I have nearly as many chips in my paint after 1200kms (hasn't seen gravel yet) then I had with my nearly 3 year old 37" mud tire, seen a ton of gravel, ram did.

The v4 drone and vibration. Just not use too it I guess. Just annoying.

Carpet in the wheel Wells??! Dumbest thing ever. Just drive through a snow storm. Took me forever to spray off the frozen mud. Just when you think your done and on to next wheel.... Look back to see mud dripping down into cleaned wheel.

The good :

Mpg! Wow. Love this

The ride.... It's like a caddy!

The interior. Fit and finish is great.

Tech. Through the roof! I mean a charging pad for your phone?! WiFi?!

Power is decent.

I will sum it up as this :

The sierra is a gentleman's truck. One where you would sip scotch and nibble on lamb whilst driving.

The ol ram is a Wendy's baconator smashed down with a bud light whilst drifting gravel roads.

I'm not sure yet, which one I want to be.... Lol
