First time at the strip with this truck

Seems slow to me.

My 2005 vmax ran a 13.91 with just a tune

My 2006 5.3 ran a 14.6 with just a tune.

6.2 is making wayyy more power than the above. I was expecting them to be 13sec rides, out of the box. Hell, a 5.0 f150 will give a 6.2 a hard time.

I haven't seen any 1/4 mile times for the 6.2 when having had a tune, speed limiter, removed, 3.73 rear end, etc. would be interesting. If anyone has this or similar setup please share.

I'm going run mine again with a set of factory 18" wheels and tires and see how big of a difference tires and wheels make. Fastest mine has run is 14.6 @ 95mph. I need to weigh one of my tires and wheels compared to a factory tire and wheel. I would gamble to say that my tire and wheel setup is are at least 100lbs a piece. Just the tires I have weigh 60+ lbs each and my wheels are 40lbs a piece. If a factory set of 18" wheels and tires are say 20lbs a piece lighter, that should make a substantial difference in performance.......

Agree. And, if you should have a 4x4 set the it on Auto, thereby, if your rear wheels start to break loose front wheels will start pulling, minimizing wheel slippage. I believe I mentioned earler, when Truck Trend did their annual full size pickup comparison for GM they used a Sierra Denali CC 6.2/8spd 4x4 with drive train set on Auto and turned 14.1 in qtr. Btw, It won 2016 Truck of the Year.

Yes sir I agree, the few times I've run, I use autotrac. I've also tried 2wd, and no matter how much I feather the throttle, it spins quite a bit. Autotrac is a dead hook everytime. I'm hoping with the mods I have and shedding 150lbs of rolling mass, that a high 13 second e.t. is possible. I don't know when the next time I'll be able to run will be, we just had our baby girl 3 weeks ago and my free time just got a lot less.

Lol! Know about that! Gave up flying lesions when first daughter arrived. Now, three daughters and thirty five years later I'm too old!

. Ditto, it's been 20 years since I was on drag strip.
