06 outer cv joint boots

Can you still buy outer cv joint boots that are split so you glue them together. Hate to take whole front apart. I bought some tears ago, about 15 mins. to change. thanks

Probably still can. Not the method I'd use

Me personally but I'd just change the shaft as a whole and be done with it. I just had one go a few weeks ago and it was easier to replace the shaft. It's a pretty simple fix, shaft (new not reman) was only $70 and no core cost.

I CAN'T FIND ANY SPLIT CV BOOTS LIKE WERE AVAILABLE YEARS AGO. cOMPLETE new shaft at advance auto $45 with the discounts. truck has 110,000 miles so best to put new shaft in.

That's right, it is the best thing to do. If the boot was ripped the joint probably had crap in it anyway. Do the job right

I like to rebuild my own.Have one spare good one and one that needs a rebuild,probably do it in the next few weeks when I have nothing else to do.
