thearizonacowboy Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Howdy all, I'm looking to pick up a set of new upper control arms to go with my Fox coilovers to help increase travel. While searching I found the following UCAs: http://zoneoffroad.com/zone-offroad-products-suspension-upper-control-arms-chevy/c2310 Does anyone have any experience with these? Do you recommend another brand over these? I'm looking to get 10-11" of suspension travel while being durable and low-maintenance. Thanks! EDIT: I'm also looking at the following UCAs: https://camburg.com/shop/suspension/camburg-chevy-1500-2wd-4wd-07-15-1-25-performance-uniball-upper-arms-oem-steel/ http://www.socalsupertrucks.com/Uniball-Upper-Control-Arm-Kit-07-silverado-sierra-Total-Chaos-77500.aspx#.Vyky7YSDFBc http://cstsuspension.com/07-2013-new-body-1500-2wd-p-u/279-mid-travel-upper-arms-2007-2015-gm-1500.html http://www.cognitomotorsports.com/boxed-upper-control-arm-kit-1538.html So far I'm leaning towards the Cognitos but I remember seeing that a member here had an issue with them working with the Fox shocks.
Gc773 Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 I have the Fox 2.0 and the Cognito UCA you listed. No issues thus far (5000) miles after the install. During install as per direction the knuckle had to be drilled larger to accept the larger diameter ball joint stud. (Note: the nuts provided are a weak link. I replaced with hardened tie rod end nuts). Completely satisfied.
gabekalp Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Camburg or mazzulla. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Don't buy those cheap $300 ones Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've never done work on UCAs before so would you mind sharing some more information on the tie rod end nuts that you replaced? Thanks
gabekalp Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Those two company's are hand fabricated by very talented people here in California. Not some robot in chinaSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk edit: total chaos, cst, and cognito are very reputable companies as well, the china comment is directed at that first link. in case anyone misinterprets me
skallywag Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 I had camburgs on my 2011 f150 for about 2 days hated them customer service as garbage had to go to the shop to talk to anyone. Ended up throwing them in a dumpster and getting the first set RPG made for the f150. But I like the cognito ucas. I will be purchasing those with the uniball most likely when I do my lift. Just my 2¢
zack89 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 What would be the best option when my stock ball joints go. I have a 2 inch level. I've been looking all over the forum but all I've seen is the controls arms that are 600 plus and I'm not sure of I wanna spend that much, living in ontario I don't think the uniball system would be good with the salt. Can you get a better ball joint for the factory arms or is It just toast when they are shot?
silveradosid Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 if you have steel uca you can replace the ball joint, if they are alumunin then your screwed
zack89 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 OK sounds good I have steel. And is there an option for aftermarket or am I limited with factory again
Rkaroll953 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 are you doing a fox 3 inch lift strut with the control arm? i like that setup should work well!
