Which Scan Tool???

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a scanner that I can set the Cam Retard Offset with as the 1999 Suburban I've recently acquired comes up with a code that the crank sensor is not in sync with the cam sensor. Which tool should I get that will have live time data to get what us old timers call a Distributor set with the crank sensor? Thanks, Dave!

Are you sure that you dont need to do a crankshaft relearn procedure. If so i have the snap on modis scanner which takes care of that procedure quite easily

According to the GM manual it needs to be set at above 1000 RPM and set to 0 plus or minus 2 and the computer will keep the light off. Needs to be done with a scanner that has the proper capability to keep the check engine light from coming on. If I google it I get tons of scanners for sale but none definitely tell me if the tool supports this setting.
