Late 2016 truck ordering

Hi everyone. I am new here. I placed an order last week for a 2016 Chevy 2500hd LTZ duramax double cab. Coming from an 02 Powerstroke.

 

Today the dealer called and told me we did not get it as a 16 and it will be built as a 17. How is this possible? I mean am I correct in saying ordering guides, ordering banks and options are not open/ out yet? I think I might ask for my deposit back and wait a while? I am really interested in the towing camera system and 3rd brake light camera that you can't get any info on yet. It could be 17 option. Not sure I want to chance a new duramax, ect.

 

Not sure what everyone's luck is on ordering? Any thoughts on the process or GM employees to help someone out? What would you do in my position?

The 2016 model year is done. 2017 specs are on line.

Do you happen to have a link? I only have seen information regarding 1500's. Thanks

IF, and that is IF the dealer is going to sell you the truck with exactly the same options you ordered, AND for the same amount of $$, then GO for it. Rarely do truck options change that much year to year, and usually they just add more standard features instead of removing them. I would have the dealer print out the order form for the '17 and compare it with the order form you did when ordering the '16 and compare.

That is interesting, because I just spoke with my dealer today and he said I have until the end of June to get my order in for a 2016 model 2500HD. I'd like to know the real story?

Dealer is screwing you around, GM will make you the truck but the dealer cannot get it done.

I would assume that if he can place an order for a 2017 HD on May 31st.the order guide would be out on or before that date. Then again we are talking about information from a dealer......
