I have been doing a lot of research and watching a lot of videos. I just wanted to know what the consensus was here on the best exhaust with the least drone for the 5.3L?

I'm curious as well. I'm really considering the dynomax vt or ultra flo catback. I've just replaced muffler on my 14 and 15, but want to go catback system on the 16. The dynomax is not much more than what I paid for just a muffler swap and new tailpipe on my last two.

It depends on what you want but the GM/ Borla is great imo. No drone, quiet during normal driving, throaty on cold starts, and a nice throaty growl when you're in the pipe. It's not aggressive enough for some but it's perfect for my taste.

My Borla S- Type does not drone, but you do get the V-4 chopper sound. You do hear it just cruising around, but she opens up when you get on it.

Funny thing is after all my research I was looking at the dynomax ultra flo exhaust. I'm calling them to make sure it fits a 2016....

i have the dynomax VT and love it. Had to put a screw in it to stop the cold start rattle but its perfect now.

I was reading about this problem. where was this located?

I think its the luck of the draw on if your going to get a "rattler" or not but i put a sheet metal screw in the bottom seam about 7 inches back. I did it like 8 months ago and its been perfect ever since.

Did you leave flapper valve in the system or remove it

Theres an actual GM "stock" one (if u wanna call it that) then theres also Borlas own Touring & Atak.

My inlaws have the GM Borla on their Denali Suburban and i think its sounds really nice. Nothing obnoxious at all. Im gonna have it installed on my Silverado prob around the end of the year.

Theres a few youtube videos with the GM one
