ProComp - RC - or McGaughy

Hi everyone. Just got my 2016 Sierra last week and have been reading like crazy about lifts. I want a 3.5-4 and stuck between these three. The shop I'm going to said he's never had an issue with RC (he wasn't pushing any brand) but I've was awful thing on here. I'm no expert on the topic so I want to ask the folks who are.

Thanks in advance. I'm trying to avoid getting a kit and having to fix something soon after.

In order of build quality

Pro comp

Fabtech

McGaughys

RCX

If you can afford it, go with the pro comp 4". The RCX 3.5" just seems too sketchy with spacers on the differential and no longer bolts for the differential. Just my .02 though

Ok thank you. Would your thoughts change if it was the RC 5" knuckle or bracket kit?

Haven't looked at it and not sure if they fully drop the differential the full 5 inches. I had the 6" for my 02 Silverado and it was the same kit as a 4" but I had to crank the keys another 2" for the extra lift plus the differential drop was only 4" so it was equivalent to just slapping a level kit on the truck. I went with the McGaughys 7" kit and it dropped it the full 7" so my angles were very close to stock. I've just had a bad taste in my mouth about RCX since I had that kit, I even asked the tech guys why they set it up like that, having the 4" and 6" as the same kit (besides rear blocks) and they basically said because it's cheaper to manufacture them that way then charge extra for the bigger blocks.

Wow ok. Thank you for the replies. I might have to wait a little while. I want to do this right the first time. I can get the RC 3.5 + rims/tires for $3300 but if the ProComp is the better lift then I might wait.

Save yourself the time and forget about the RC 3.5 if you plan on keeping the truck for a while. I went down that road before, never again!

I definitely plan on holding onto it for sometime. Would the Fabtech 4" be any better or is the 4" ProComp the way to go?

Of those choices, I'd go pro comp. The fabtech 4" is a overstretched leveling kit that's going to end up similar to the RC 3.5

Ok. My concerns are getting a kit that won't cause trouble and need constant repairs; meeting the wife half way (she prefers nothing too big bc we have kids and if/when she drives it getting the little ones in it will be an issue), and trying to avoid having to start re-gearing things, etc.

I know of 2 local trucks (both 2015) running pro comp 4" with no issues. One is at 25k and the other 41k.
