I'm new to the site so I figured I should start a thread on the progress of the truck since I have had it. A little back story, I purchased the truck on August 1, 2015 off of my uncle who had purchased it in November of 14 for my cousin (his 21 year old son) so he would stop using the company dump truck, which is a Chevy Kodiak, as a daily. Anyway, he managed to beat the living tar out of it, more than it was when he got it, as he drove it through the winter months.

He quit driving it in early June of 15 and it sat in his driveway while he was back to driving the Kodiak. Needless to say my 16th birthday rolls around in July and I am looking for a truck, always wanted a truck since I was little. My uncle offers it to me for sale since he is looking to get my cousin a new truck with a plow, ended up with an 02 F250, he managed to beat the tar out of that by the way. So I ended up picking up the truck for $2500, after my uncle dumped about $1500 into at inspection time in May. Figured it was a good deal with 116k on it at the time. Over the past 10 ish months I, along with the help of my Dad, have slowly been bringing her back to life.

Specs on the truck

-RCLB

-6.0 Vortec

-4l80

-3.73 w/G80 Diff

-"Pewter" paint, looks like a gold to me.

Anyway, on to the pics. The first pic was the day I got the truck after about 4 hours, a ton of quarters, and a lot of scrubbing at the car wash.

Its a great truck minus the fact that it gets 9 mpg. I'm hoping a tune and this transmission rebuilt might help. I took down a 13 Dodge 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi, pretty proud my 17 year old stock truck did that. Im trying to get more pics uploaded but the file sizes are way to big.

Yes 9 mpg not good. And I thought my 11 to 12 mpg was bad lol

great price. I stopped and looked at one, also $2500..

gone in one day.

same year etc.

to keep rpms down, that engine responds to cold air..

fuel mileage will hit the teens anyway.

16mpg is the magic number for that one.

Im looking into a bigger trans cooler after I get it back from having the transmission rebuilt. It has a k&n intake on it and was on the truck when I bought it.
