Hard to explain issue

Not sure how to best explain this....

When driving at 35-40 and approaching a right turn, I obviously use the break slightly and then take the turn and then gas, my truck almost feels like its bogging way down. Or Feels like the transmission is slipping or something. It just revs up for a while and then finally comes out of it and goes. I know that doesn't prob make much sense but it drives me nuts. It's on my daily route to work every day.

I have a Gibson exhaust and a k&n Intake. I honestly did t notice this until these parts were installed.

Any ideas?

It could be that it's in v4 mode. Mine hangs onto v4 mode a bit too long sometimes and it makes you feel like its bogging down. I'd either try using a bit more throttle to get it out of v4 quicker or just drive it in manual to bypass v4 all together.

I was thinking the holding onto V4 thing, also. If you put the DIC on setting that shows MPG it has indicator for V4 or V8 mode...you can watch it as it seems to be bogging down and then coming up to speed to verify.

Try driving the same route in M5. Just put the gear selector in Manual and click up on the +/- till you're in M5. This will lock out AFM or V4 mode. You should notice much improved drivability. And for when you get on the interstate just click up one more time to M6 and this will enable V4 mode again. Oh.. I just saw your profile so Im assuming you have 8 speed. So I guess M7 would apply. If this helps, and I bet it will, you can continue to drive in manual mode, get a Range AFM delete plug in device or my personal advise get yourself a Blackbear tune.

I know exactly what you mean! Have you ever driven a manual car with the clutch slipping? It reminds me of that. My truck does this to. Not sure if it's normal or not.

Try disabling grade braking too and see if it goes away. Hold the Tow/Haul button for 5+ seconds, then release, and you should get a message on the DIC saying "Grade Braking Disabled".

Try driving the same route in M5. Just put the gear selector in Manual and click up on the +/- till you're in M5. This will lock out AFM or V4 mode. You should notice much improved drivability. I shoulda kept my ford lol. To drive this truck I have to put the truck in manual, switched to 5, then disable grade breaking, lol. So many steps. Why are they making trucks so complicated nowadays. I just wanna drive the damn thing.

Driving this truck in drive is horrible. I hate the v4 mode all together it just seams to never know when it wants to be. I may have to get it disabled.

If you are in M5, the V4 is disabled. So double check that you are in M5.

And get a tune (i.e. Diablo) and for around $300-400, I think your problems might be gone based on your descriptions.

I know I'm in m5, the whole reason I use it is to not have the truck kick in and out of v4. With an exhaust it sounds horrid and drives horrible. Tune is my next move for sure.

The behavior is by design, unfortunately. I didn't notice it either until I installed my Borla cat-back. It feels exactly like the transmission is slipping, but it's just the crappy transmission programming causing the torque converter to lock up very slowly.

It drives me crazy too. A tune will fix it, and that's up next for me as well.
