I was traveling done the interstate today and some crazy ass woman passed me on the side of the road threw pebbles up onto my truck 2016 z71 3k miles.... Found one paint chip on the front quarter panel little bigger than a pen head "deep ocean blue" just curious what's the best way to make it look like it never happen any tricks???

I would like to know this also. Just found 2 spots on my front fender. People are not kidding when they say the paint is paper thin on these new trucks. My 06 Silverado you coult drive through the woods and not scratch it.

Gonna be tough but, give it about a year and you'll have about 1/2 a dozen rock chips. New paint jobs are a joke.

My expirence is Touch paint almost never matches. Victory Red might be the exeption.

If you wanna be precise try a toothpick. I just use brush. Concern is if left uncovered chip will rust.

I have chips all over the place, just ordered the touchup pen. I know it won't look perfect, but I just want to fill the chips down to the metal to prevent the rust from starting. Oh, and hide the hammer head mark that someone gave me.

Go to the dealership and have them match up the paint codes, and get the right touch up paint. What you can do after this varies: *I* used a toothpick. The tip of the toothpick is so small, i feel like it gives you more "control" over the amount of paint you use at one time. I'm about to buy my a container of it, then buy me one of those bug/rock deflectors for the truck to see if that helps

Hell yeah, man. Can't beat that! Is the Silverado paint really that thin?

I would suggest paint protection film (clear bra) after it is repaired. I had a ton of chips on my bumper for a truck only a few months old. Had Xpel put on and no chips since. Wish I had done it sooner. Others can't tell I have it unless it tell them, then they can see the seam after looking.

I use Dr Colorchip but any touch up paint that you can level after application should work. The key is that the touchup be perfectly level with the surrounding paint and not extend out onto the unchipped area.

Second that! :)

Dr. Color chip is the best way to go over all. Not cheap... but Autogeek or Autopia often have 15%-20% off sales that help. ;)
