22's Tire Question

Hi everyone,

New to the forum here and have a question for those of you who have 22 inch wheels. I am in market for some 1 inch taller tires than stock size (285 45 22) and looking at the Nitto Terra Grapplers G2 sized 285 50 22. I notice they only come in LT 10 ply and was just curious for those of you who have these tires do they ride stiff being a 10 ply? How about milage with the extra weight does it affect it significantly? Any help would be great thanks in advance.

A search would have answered your question as it is covered pretty heavily on here and there are only a few choices of AT tires in a 22" wheel, but to answer your questions since you didn't search then yes and yes. It will ride rougher having a stiffer sidewall (though it already rides rougher with a 22 inch wheel and low profile tires) and you will lose some mpg, mostly in the city, but it will be some (as well as having a more aggressive tire).

i am taking my 14 silvy in thurs morn to have a rc 2.5 level kit with 1 inch rear block put on. i am currently running bs 285 45 22 now going to a 285 55 22 terra grap g2. will prob have to do a little triming . i will let you know friday how it rides

Let me know. You have the exact setup I'm looking at doing this fall. I already got the lift done. Just need the tires.
