Hey all,

Just got my new wheels and since I was gonna be standing in my driveway staring at the truck anyway I decided to begin detailing it. I washed, clay barred and polished the entire truck. It looks absolutely amazing. This was my first time polishing a vehicle (did it by hand) and i used Meguiar's Polish, I have to say I have no complaints. The finish is like a mirror (black paint).

Now my question is, since it's dark out, is it ok to wait till tomorrow to wax it? My drive to work is 10 min each way so it won't get too dirty but I want to hear what you more experienced guys think. When I get home tomorrow can I just rinse and dry then wax?

Thanks for input. Pics coming after I eat

As long as it doesn't get to dirty hit it with some waterless wash before waxing

I don't have any waterless, wouldn't that get rid of the polish? What about a QD spray

You just run the risk of creating swirls if you take it out and it gets dirty then you try to wax it without it being totally clean. Some detail spray might get off light dust, such as if you just left it in the garage. If you drive it and perhaps get dirt on it, I'd concur with Ryan and say try to use waterless. Obviously you know your drive to work and the road/weather conditions, we don't, so it's kind of a best guess for us. Better to play it safe after your hard work cleaning her up.

I have no problem cleaning it again but will that mean I have to polish again? I don't know how polish reacts to a wash. I.e will I see all my swirls again after I wash it

After a polish job there is nothing left to remove. Just clean paint/clear coat. Wash and wax it.

You shouldn't have polish on the truck after you apply and remove it. Waterless wash or QD will not remove anything except the dirt

Ok thanks. I'm a noob. Wasn't sure if the polish stayed on like wax does after you wipe away.
