I had the same reaction when I put Michelins on my last two trucks! I am looking forward to getting them on this truck. I'm not convinced that the white lettering on the inside won't annoy me but the ride quality outweighs the annoyance!

The letters are less noticeable when they become dirty but can be clearly seen on SUV's and vehicles with higher ground clearance. Most people don't notice or care. It is purely a cost saving measure for the company to eliminate the choice on their more popular sizes. I have been in contact with Michelin customer service department to express my concern. They simply told me that this tire is not offered in BSW in this size. They offer no explanation or try to sell me on the two sided nature of the tire. The representatives I spoke to made no effort retain me as a customer or alleviate my concern. I would switch brands if I could find a tire as good!

Black shoe polish in a squeeze/sponge applicator. I blacked out white letters over the years and this worked the best for me.

I only black out white letters on a tire that I grew tired of looking at, and it is easier and cheaper to black them out instead of remounting them. Now a days I mount any and all my tires black wall out.

I considered trying a poll to see how many readers actually prefer the white lettering but discovered similar polls have been done in the past. It appears there are enough people who like the looks of white lettering to justify production. This is bonus advertising for the manufacturer. I think outlined raised white lettering cheapens the look of the tire/vehicle and I will choose a BSW tire over one with ORWL.
