Looking for some incite on the future purchase of some A/T tires and size. I am driving a 2014 Silverado 1500, with 18x9 +18 Warriors. I have a R/C full 2.5 kit installed up front and with the taller rear blocks installed in the rear. I am currently running 275/70/18 Toyo MT which looks nice but are they rough and wear out fast. Looking to go with a true A/T that will perform well on the HWY and the occasional off road. This is a daily driver and the occasional off road will be mild but will involve a few muddy trails but no deep holes. I am also wanting the tires to perform well in the event of winter storms snow/ice. I live in Alabama and the winters here are not always bad but can be at times, to include the weekend get away to the Tenn. mountains.

There are a couple of brands/models I am considering

Goodyear Wrangler Adventure with Kevlar A/T

Toyo OC A/T XT

Mastercraft AXT

I am thinking of running a 285/65/18, or a 285/70/18. Or if something bigger will fit then please provide that size. I do not want to do any trimming to allow clearance FYI. I am also open to other brand suggestions.

thanks for inputs, and if you want to include photos in post please do. I always enjoy seeing what others are running..

I have the Goodyear Duratrac's on my Jeep Wrangler. They are quiet on the highway but look really aggressive on the Jeep. I have gone up the mountains in Vegas in summer and up Lake Tahoe's mountains in winter with no issues at all. The tread life has been really good for me but the Jeep is a lot lighter than your truck so others might have to talk about that.

thanks for the insight, i have considered those Duratrac's. they do look good but they are more like a M/T

Cooper Discoverer AT3. Very happy with them. They are wider across the tread than most others of the same size.

I have the Mastercraft AXT on my '16 in a 275/65/18. I had these same tires on my '08 and in the winter I ran 265/70/18 Cooper AT3s. The Coopers have better wet traction than the AXTs. I came across a tire comparison between the AT3 and several other populat AT tires and the AT3 came out on top.

yeah the ATX and the AT3 are very similar, and made by the same company. I have had the AXT and liked them okay. Kinda know what to expect from therm. just wanted explore the thoughts of others on the goodyears, yokohama at GO15, toyo AT2, and even the Michelin LTX/AT. even open to other brands as well...

JUST NO MALL CRAWLERS NITTO TERRA GRAPLERS G2

I was very pleased with my Cooper AT3's. They did very well in all conditions, although I don't do any serious mudding...just a few muddy roads during hunting season. My only complaint with them was that they didn't look very aggressive to me. I've also been pleased with my current Toyo AT2's and I think they look better than the Coopers (but that's just personal opinion). For my next set, I'm seriously considering a hybrid tire, like the Cooper ST Maxx, Toyo RT, or Nitto Ridge Grappler.

Yeah, i am seriously considering the toys at2's. there is a guy at work with the toys rt's on his jeep. they look okay but not sure how they will be in rainy wet roads, or a winter mix.

but i have found a set of pro comp i really like, just not sure if the size they make them in will fit my truck LT305/60R18. if they will not fit i think i am planning on going with a set of one of these 3 in the size of lt285/65r18

toyo at2 xt

big at ta ko2

yokohama geolander GO15

Cooper Discoverer ATP on mine, no complaints after about 10k miles.

Put two years on Cooper ATPs, and at about 50% they got slippery on wet roads (lose siping and harder rubber) and got noisey. Wear was good for an AT, just not for me...

Cooper AT3's and don't look back and think I shoulda woulda or coulda.....best AT tire for the cost...period.

I agree. For the price, they're pretty hard to beat. They perform well in every condition except deep mud, and they last a long time. Mine had 50k on them when I sold them, and still had lots of life left.

I love my BFG KO2's on my truck.
A lot of people I work with at work, said the Mastercraft ATX's wear out pretty fast.
Idk if I'll go back to BFG's, they are a heavier tire for sure. Might get Toyo's RT or Nittos Ridge Grappler or something like that as my next one.
