Brake fluid flush with Motive bleeder

Has anybody flushed their brakes with a Motive brake bleeder, specifically on a GMt-900/NNBS?

I'm wanting to bleed mine soon since the fluid is getting a little dark. How difficult was it and did it do a good job? The bleeder is $70 from Summit Racing or I can go to the dealer and have them do it for $129.

 

My other question is around the ABS module. Will the power bleeder bleed the ABS module or does it have to activated. I though I read somewhere that the dealer can activate the ABS module when they flush the system to get the old fluid out.

I flushed the fluid in my '08 using my homemade pressure bleeder. I built it from a pump-up garden sprayer and a replacement reservoir cap. I added a valve stem to the sprayer so that I can fill it with my compressor and check the pressure. I bled at 10psi. Took roughly 1/2 hr to flush the old fluid out. Just be sure to keep an eye on the level in the reservoir. Don't want to get it too low and get air in the system.

I have flushed mine with a pressure bleeder with no issues. I don't think you need to worry about the ABS module unless you manage to get air in it. As said earlier, be sure to keep the reservoir full.

I did the same thing and from hardware I had laying around.Replaced the fluid in my Burb as well as Wifey's.Luckily where I work I was able to get a gallon of DOT3 at a good price.

Thanks, all. So is there a bypass in the ABS module that allows the fluid to move when the brakes are applied and then valves open when ABS is needed?

 

I need to also do a fluid flush in a Jeep Wrangler so a Motive will pay for itself easily with both of those.

I have a motive power bleeder and have had very good luck with it. Make sure you get the gm cap. I did the brake fluid on my 13 about two months ago and it came out NASTY green/dark. Really made me glad I did it. I would recommend finding some OEM GM brake fluid because they have added lubricant to it.

I didn't fully flush but it worked well. Used for the second time Friday. Only issue I had were the damn bleeder screws

You can get a bleeder from harbor freight that works just fine.

I hit my bleeder screws with liquid wrench the day before I did the job to try to get a head start on getting the damn things off. Be sure to use a box end and not an open end wrench.
