2016 Gmc Sierra towing problems

Hello all, new here. Just seeing if anyone else is having the same problem as myself. My current set up is a rough country 7.5 lift with 2.2 shocks in the rear, 20x 12 fuels and 35in nittos running 45psi. I tow a 12ft enclosed lawn trailer daily and drive the interstate mainly I also tow a 21ft boat on weekends, when I drive over bridges the truck almost feels as the front wheels are bouncing off the ground and gets very sketchy. I have a 10in drop hitch so both of the trailers sit level like they should when being towed. The front shocks were left with the factory ranchos (lift installer recommended this). Does anyone else experience this when towing? Ill try to upload a video I took of it doing it today. Thanks all

Hit a CAT scale to be sure front axle not being unloaded too much???

The truck doesn't squat when the trailers are hooked up, that's the thing. Its worse with the enclosed trailer...maybe because its a single axle vs the boat trailer being a dual axle?

Even if it isn't squatting when hitched, knowing axle weights would be good to know. I've never used that much drop. Could it act as moment arm and leverage the bouncing weight more than a short drop?

I considered that also, if I use a shorter drop then the trailer will hit the ground in the back. I considered a air ride hitch but didn't know if that would fix the problem?

common with a single axle trailer. if you have most of the weight at the front , when trailer hits a bump it driver the nose of the trailer down

It does it with my double axle boat trailer also though....

I would say trailer bounce as well. Since the truck is lifted now you have moved the fulcrum point up higher. So now when you hit a bump or dip in the road with a trailer attached, once the trailer is unsettled by the bump it sends that movement to the truck via the lever/fulcrum effect.

so would one of the shocker hitches work? I see they have a 30 day money back gaurantee

may help and may make it worse, because your adding another pivot point. for the price of the hitch, i would install air bags suspension

Im running 6.5 inch lift with 35s. I tow two side by sides on a 20 foot heavy car hauler frequently. Also tow a 3500 pound tractor some and i have no issues.

Man that truck is squatted for sure, I bet oncoming traffic is getting some bad glare from your headlights with that much squat on the truck.

Check out an earlier thread regarding front end travel. I have a stock 2015 Z71, with air bags in the rear and I pull a 16 ft cargo trailer. Front end bounce, both when pulling a trailer or empty, has been an issue with me since day one. Thinking of installing a set of Fox shocks in the front sometime soon. I have contacted Rancho, inquiring to see if they have an update for the 2014 to 2016 trucks, being they built and supplied the shocks to GM's specs. for these trucks. No updates available from Rancho
