Corsa sport review

Oh dear god just installed my Corsa sport cat back on my 6.2L and it's awesome! Louder than I expected when I first started it but man it's got a nice tone at all rpms. Perfect rumble at idle but impressively loud when you get on it. The thing I really like is you can actually drive it without waking up the neighborhood. Sounds great while downshifting while coasting too. I like fairly loud so I'd say it's perfect, but I can definitely see it being too loud for some. It's certainly not "slightly more than factory" by any stretch of the imagination. As far as "drone", I've had Corsa, Flowmaster and Borla touring all on an LT1 camaro and they always have some humm inside but I like that to an extent...I would say the Corsa has very little. I almost felt like there was actually more with the windows up, but maybe that's just because with them down it's somewhat drowned out by the exhaust and wind noise. At cruising speeds, it's actually pretty quiet. I did notice a little bit of that chopper noise in v4 mode, mostly when coasting, but again I didn't mind it, kind of sounds like a lumpy cam to me. I figure if it bugs me too much, I'll just drive in M7...don't imagine it'll affect gas mileage too much. With the sound of the exhaust, it's really fun to drive manual and wind out the gears a little more and downshift manually anyways. Lastly I don't tow yet, so I can't comment on noise/drone with towing, but for normal driving I think it'll be ok, especially since I drive less than 10k a year and rarely drive long distances. Overall great sound that gets people's attention, makes the truck way more fun to drive....moderately loud, probably acceptable for most.

Yea Corsa is badass. I had it on my 5.3L. I no longer have the truck but I miss the throaty V8 sound from that muffler. I think the truck sounded even better with AFM turned off. Absolutely no drone at any speed. But that will require a custom tune.

Sounds great! I can tell you one thing after listening to a hundred different sound clips....they give a pretty good idea on how it will sound, but not loudness, they are significantly louder in person!! Mine is also a 6.2 which from what I've heard is also a little louder than 5.3. As far as the AFM, I've determined after driving several hundred miles, that I don't even mind the sound of the drone, it's the turning on and off so much that I don't like. which occurs more in town driving....so if I'm not going on highways and I'm sticking at 55 or under, I can just leave it in M7 and gas mileage barely changes and if I'm cruising highway speeds, I just leave it in drive and you can hardly notice the AFM kicking on.

I thought the chopper noise was amusing as an aural indicator that I hit V4 mode. I had BlackBear do an in-person tune the other day so no more V4 for me at the moment.

Having driven about 1500 miles since I put on the Corsa, it sounds a little different now. Much less windows-up cab resonance, more raw throatiness. Just keeps sounding better and better. Between the Corsa and the BB tune, my mileage took a severe hit though, but I can at least blame that on my right foot.

Yeah I might add another thing people don't normally mention about aftermarket exhausts....at least the Corsa, sounds FAR better OUTSIDE the truck than inside! Outside sounds perfect and echoing off buildings and inside parking ramps even barely above idle has a great sound but inside is a different story. I mean don't get me wrong, it's not too bad but between a little drone in and out of v4 mode, some chopper noise plus even v8 rumbles, vibrations and reverberations, I just wish it was a tad quieter inside.

Yours will be louder because mine is a 5.3, but I mine certainly quieted down on the interior cab noise after some miles.

Are still happy with the exhaust? Seems like the noise might be annoying you a little bit after having it on for a week.

Yes I'm still happy with it....just sounds so damn good, the perfect gurgle/rumble. I'm getting used to the added loudness inside and I just drive it in M7 most of the time.

Your review and the video from Fundupot sold me on the system. I pulled the trigger last night.

Awesome! I like it even more after a few more weeks! I thought it was quite loud at first, but now I'm used to it. I love they way it sounds when you get on it at 4-5k rpm echoing off buildings, it's a nice raspy sound. plus when it shifts at higher rpms too, it sounds sweet.

The Corsa seems to have a sharp biting sound to it I like it but I think that it it would be too loud for me. I had my dealer install a GM Borla Exh a couple of weeks back. So far I am pleased with it. It does seem pretty quiet when compared to the Corsa...

I put mine on last night - Corsa 14873BLK. I did it by myself with a can of WD40 and two deep sockets. The process was 3 hours, and a lot of profanity. I have zero mechanical ability, so I'm sure others could do it much quicker. Taking the old exhaust off was a challenge. Everything I read said to slide it out the back over the axle, but I could not get it completely out going that route. I ended up sliding it back as far as I could, and then pushing it forward to where it dropped to the floor. I was then able to slide it out on the ground. Putting the new exhaust on was relatively easy. The exhaust has a nice rumble at cold start. I don't notice anything in V4 other than a little rumble. Blue Crayon was correct, this exhaust is louder than I expected. Sound is great at highway cruising speed and under heavy throttle. The only thing that bothers me is there is a strange resonance under light throttle, going up a grade, at around 1700-2000 rpm that bothers my ears. I'm going to tighten everything up tonight, and hope that with a little "breaking-in" that sound will disappear (or I'll get used to it!).

I thought the same, mentioned it elsewhere, and alluded to it in this thread. I think you'll be pleased; my exhaust broke in and the resonance died down and I also got a little more used to it. No regrets here.
