I wanted to get a build thread started. Mine won't be extravagant by any means but I will still do some mods to it.

 

I started off with a 2016 Colorado Z71 CCSB but that just wasn't cutting it for me. So upped it to a full size like I should have done in the first place:

2016 Silverado Crew Cab Short Bed 4x4

Tungsten Metallic

All Star Edition

Integrated Trailer Brake

18" wheels

3.42 gears

Heated Seats

My first mod was a set of running boards off a 2016 2500 Gas

Shortly after I got the bed sprayed at my local dealer. I think they did a great job!

And today I installed some aftermarket mirrors I bought off of eBay. They feel really solid for cheap mirrors

They do. The passenger side one I think is DOA though. The driver's side works fine. I have a request into the seller right now to get a new one sent to me. Till then I'll just manually adjust it to where I need it.

My goal is to use this truck for towing my JK so most upgrades will be to support that. Air bags, better tires, load distribution hitch...I MIGHT do a leveling kit but that's not in the cards right now.

Just to update: I've been hashing it back and forth with the eBay seller of the mirrors. Going down the road the actual mirror vibrates quite a bit causing the view behind me to be blurred. They are sending me another set of mirrors saying these new ones shouldn't...we shall see.

That's my experience with most aftermarket mirrors. After a few that were bad on my s10, I went with used oem.

The seller is very persistent that the new mirrors shouldn't have an issue. But I think I am going to have to go down the same path of going OEM. New mirrors are scheduled for delivery on 9/28....Seller did say that if these mirrors vibrate as well they will give me all of my money back. So I figured I might as well try it out.

Well I decided to trade this in on a 6.2.  Never pulled my Jeep with it but did enjoy it for the last 2 years.

 

I ended up getting working mirrors.  I have my old ones for sale if anyone needs any.

 

The truck I bought is still in transit.  The dealer gave me a truck off their lot to drive until this one comes in.  Bought a black 2018 GMC 1500 6.2 Max Tow.  I'll start up a new thread once I get it.
