2015 Silverado 1500 hesitation

I know this has been covered before but, need a little advice. I bought a 15 silverado 1500 2wd in Dec, brand new. Since driving it off the lot the truck hesitates going into certain gears and it's aggravating. It's like it doesn't know what gear to go in to. I've had it to the dealer twice and they say its operating normally. I contacted Chevy Customer Service and they said the dealer said its acting normally so they closed the case. What recourse do I have? If any? I get mad every time I drive it because I spent a lot of $ and Chevy doesn't stand behind their product.

I've read the other posts about vibration etc but its not really a vibration as much as it is a hesitation. Just wanted to clarify. Its probably the economy mode switching from 8 to 4 cyl but why would it do it when your accelerating? Doesn't make sense..

Thx

It is the transmission not the engine. You are right when you say feeling it it trying to find gear. the transmission is programmed to stay in the higest possible gear under 4k? rpm. This is intentional to sqeak every bit of MPG they can onto the window sticker.

If you have let off the gas for a bit and coasting and then hit the acceloraor mine does the exact same as you describe. It tries to keep the higher gear when i coast but decides it needs more power when I step on it so downshifts.

If you have trailering press and hold the trailig button at end of shift lever for 5 sec and release your DIC will say grade braking is off. this seems to also tell the transmission to attempt lower gears (as one would want to gear down going down hills) and it should shift smoother. You would need to do this every time you start truck and forgo grade braking. Is a myth that GM is looking at a perma solution but I would not hold my breath.

How many miles on the truck? The transmissions have a learn mode that it does to elarn your driving style. Mine acted weird for the first 2-3,000 miles, but after that it's been perfect and I have almost 28,000 miles on it now. Not saying there's not a problem, but that could be what it is. If you have let's say, over 10,000 miles then something may not be right with the trans.

I've almost haven't remember where the AFM (V4 mode) really hesitated. I know I can't feel it when ti switches. I know beofre I had the exhaust done the only way I even knew it was in V4 mode was by looking at the DIC in the dash.

With only 4K on it I want to say it's probably just still in "learn mode" like I described. So this time it really is acting normal if it's still in learn mode. It should act right sooner or later. I'm not the only one that had the trans act funny and then after a few thousand it started to do perfect. Again I have almost 28,000 miles on my '14 and ever since it got out of the learn mode it's been perfect. I don't feel it shift and it doesn't seem to be confused on what gear it should be in.

Now that I think of it, do you have the 6 or 8 speed? Since you have a '15, if you have the 6.2 you have the 8 speed and there seemed to be a lot of problems with the 8 speed in the '15s and maybe some '16s.

My truck does the same. Someone told me take it to a dyno and it'll solve all these problems?

Mine is a 2014 and does the same thing. I have a 2017 loaner while the shop works on some warranty stuff. The 2017 does not do it. It drives great compared to my 2014 searching for gears. Everyone I have talked to says save up for a programmer. I was looking at Blackbear's Auto Cal turner. This will fix the problem and "wake" up your truck.

Sluggish throttle response and holding high gear is a trait of late model GM trucks. I am waiting for Hypertech to update their programming for the 2016 6.2 8spd so I can download it to my Hypertech Max Energy 2.0 part 2000 and fix mine the way that I like it. Need responsive/quick firm upshift etc. going to be awesome......... too bad GM will not let drivers select driving modes that suit them with a factory option, they are trying to assimilate everyone into the grandpa mode I guess LOL

I have a 2015 with 30k and it has done this since day 1. I have had it in the shop and they say it is normal. Normal my a$$. Fixing to take it back in. It is like it is starving for gas when I press on the pedal saying coming out of a curve. So running at 30 mph let off gas to take curve, press gas pedal to accelerate and it starts spitting and farting like it is not getting gas. The more I press the pedal the worse it gets. WTF?????
