Shudder/fast bounce

First off-I am new to this forum and glad to be amongst fellow GM owners.

 

I have a 2006 Silverado 1500 2wd that I purchased a month ago. Its been having a shudder or fast bounce at any speed when hitting a bump and a slight vibration from 40-50mph(don't think its related to the shudder though).

 

I thought shocks so I installed Bilsteins all around. The problem was still there and I assumed it came from the front end so I replaced upper control arms, lower control arms, outer tie rods, wheel hubs, sway bar end links, and sway bar bushings....all Moog.

 

The problem is still there and it is driving me crazy. It does feel like it's coming from the rear but I'm not 100%.

 

Could it be the shocks too stiff? Shackle or leaf spring bushings worn? Worn center bearing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What tires? What tire pressure?

Noticed it first with Firestone Destination, switched to Goodyear Wrangler Adventure. Running them at 34psi

I have a 96, exactly the same speeds..

a shutter.

 

I welded to the point of church bell banging the bed.

 

it narrowed down to rear left axle .. cold.

high miles seems to be the excuse, but...

 

how many miles on the rear diff?

I also replaced shocks, cross sills, balljoints..brake drums, and went for some hellacious tough tires. balanced. 112 speed 3400 pound.

exacting shutter 40-50.

real hot summer day.

beautiful. no shutter.

 

I may stick my chep ebay camera under there somewhere.. looking at entire back nd going down the road.

I have also blamed the front..

changed sway bar end links.

poly cab mounts.

 

I did narrow down some. the back end is indeed very light, even for 2006. The 1996 is much lighter.

Rear diff is stock with truck, 112k miles. Wondering if the rear is too stiff, but the research on the Bilsteins seems they wouldnt be too stiff or too soft. I am curious if my shackle and leaf spring bushings are worn out, they are showing some cracks in the rubber but no popping.

 

My driveshafts do have more than normal surface rust and center bearing seams to be ok, but I plan on changing that soon anyways.

 

Will load the truck down soon and see if it does anything different.
