Vibration after Service

So I went in on Thursday for the airbag recall and one of my "free" oil changes, which usually comes with a tire rotation. Aside from the tech fiddling with my radio and leaving oil smudges all over my fender and on my wheels I was happy with the turnaround time.

 

I drove my Camaro to work on Friday and just putted around town with my truck on the weekend, I thought I sensed a small vibration, but wasn't sure. well this morning when I was able to get up to speed I noticed that the truck vibrates at 65+. It is not a loud or violent shake, but a very small vibration, like one of those cheap vibrating massage chairs lol

 

SO my question is, the service tech either knocked off a stick on wheel weight when doing the rotation, or he somehow lost one of my hubrings. I have aftermarket Fuel wheels.

 

 

my question for any experts, a minor shake that doesn't show up to 65....(I will try to get to 70+ on my ride home tonight), is that more indicative of a wheel being out of balance due to a weight missing, or a hubring not being installed??

The tire most likely needs to be re-balanced if you can tell which one it is.

 

Just be glad you live in Tampa.

 

When ever it snows here I get snow and ice on the rims and she shakes her head off until it comes off.

I am guessing I could see which one is missing the stick on weight

I've never had a good result with tires that are rotated in a criss-cross manner, they should be rotated front to back same side. I know there are different opinions about this but I've always had issues with the traditional method.

called the dealer and told them of the situation. their first answer was that it was tire wear causing it, saying it was 7k miles. I advised them that no it hasn't gone 7k miles without a rotation, since they rotated them during my first free oil change. they then claimed that throwing a wheel weight would cause a much more violent vibration than what I was describing, offered for me to drop it off Wednesday and they would try to diagnose it.

 

I am going to hit a newly paved highway on the ride home today, try to get to 75 and see how it feels. Truck was smooth as butter before the service, so aggravating!

so beetle you think it could be tire wear due to a criss cross rotation?

just went out to the parking lot during lunch....I can see some wheel weights are missing from the front drivers side wheel. this wheel was on the back, so it was not noticeable, I am guessing now on the front I can sense it. anyway I can see from the sticky marks that some weights are missing, so I am sure that is the case
