Anyone replaced a starter?

Anyone replaced a starter on the new body style '99+ trucks? If so, where did you get one at (besides a dealerhip)? None of the local parts stores where my parents live can get one. I've still got a few places to check down here in SC tomorrow. I know there has to be some starters for these newer trucks out there somewhere.

This is for a 2000 but im sure yours is the same .

NAPA has starters but they are pricey for those styles @235 bucks plus 55 core charge

Dont know if you have any napa stores nearby but the straters are out there and that price is probally less than a dealer

Wow. $$$

 

I think the GM list price is $280-something, gmpartsdirect.com shows it at $140 with a $45 core charge, and $29 shipping, then what ever it costs me to ship the old starter back for the core.

 

We have a NAPA here and I'll check with them tomorrow, but the NAPA back home said they couldn't get one. Maybe he wasn't sure of what he was talking about.

are you having starting problems already in the '99? Or maybe did you get some headers and fried it or wanted a high torque one?

I thought it was the starter, but it could possibly be the battery. No aftermarket headers on my truck.
