Just purchased my 2016 Sierra Denali short bed and looking for tonneau covers. I want something low pro, matte finish and after talking with Morrie and Tonneau Factory Outlet I think I like the Revolver X2. What do you guys think of that one?

IMO, Backflip is a just a decent quality product for the price. I have a Backflip VP and if i had to do it over, i would have spent more money for a better product. I cant invision my Backflip lasting/looking good in 4-5 yrs.

If you have the Denali get something better.

I've had the bakflip on my truck for just over 2 years now. It does the job and for the most part, it still looks good, but it has some flaws I wish I knew about before buying it.

It leaks worse now than when first installed. Not a real show stopper for me, but you should know that the more you roll it up and use the straps to secure it, the more you will pull the front lip of the cover up with the straps, hence creating a gap between the bed and front of the cover which will make the leak worse the more it's rolled up and secured.

I also hate trying to open and close it in winter. Once the temperature drops below about 30, the guide rails don't like to spring up or only the back 1/3 or so of the rail springs up on one side while the other side I need to try to force up in order to roll up the cover. The colder it is, the worse it is. Then when I go to unroll it back down, I need to pound on each side of the cover from front to back in order to get the cover to sit flat.

Those are my two main gripes. If you don't care about it leaking and if you live in the south, it's a great cover - very convenient to use.

  • what do you recommend then? Looking for low pro, matte finish.

Honestly, i haven't looked at tonneau covers since shopping for mine. I know that they have 100's of styles and a price for anyones budget. Im happy enough with mine(for now). It covers the bed for those times im hauling suitcases/travel gear and even the groceries. It leaks somewhere by the tailgate, but i knew it would just from when i first opened the box it came in. Its not a bad leak, but enough to piss you off.

Like i said, Backflips are decent, just not "the best".

try american tonneau company soft roll-up...i have this on my denali and it looks great. looked at the revolver x2 myself as i wanted that ultra low sleek look, but could not justify $1000 for a cover. low profile (about half an inch above bed rail at most), not as low as the revolver, but its hardly noticeable when you look. quarter of the cost and so far completely dry in bed from the recent tropical thunderstorms here in florida. there's an install video on their website or youtube

I have the revolver X2 and love it. Its alot drier than the Fibermax was and its alot easier to operate the tailgate with. I did notice on GMs website they have the X2 under a different name for 699. Check it out.

Wish I could give you more details but I just installed mine this week. It only took about an hour to do by myself. I picked it up from Luke at Truck Alterations for just a shade over $700 with free shipping. Like basically said he feels it's probably tops in the market no matter the price point. Won't find a better deal on it anywhere.

I have tried to figure out if it is BAK with just a GM part number. The website says REV brand??? The old interwebs doesn't list an REV brand cover....any ideas if it is the same??

I dont know for sure but it looks exactly the same in the photo.

The phone number listed on the GM website is indeed the same as BAK industries.

I went to his website. Didn't see any revolver on there. Or any Bak Products. I'll give him a call tomorrow.

Ive had my BAK Roll-X (basically same as the Revolver) on my Raptor for 3 years now. Inside stays pretty dry and it still looks like new. Had a slight problem with the cover staying flat on the rear corners at first, but Morrie sent me a brand new cover which solved the problem then I sent him the old one back in the new box. You cant beat the service you get from Morrie. If its not right, he wants to make it right. So thumbs up :thumbs::thumbs: .

The new LTZ is getting a Revolver X2 as soon as the truck get here.

And actually, the Bakflip and Revolver are two different type of covers. Bakflip folds while the Revolver rolls.
