GM Borla Exhaust/Rubbing/Grinding on left turn

Question for those that have installed this on their 2016 Chevy 1500... I had this installed and when I make ONLY a left hand turn and hit the gas it sounds like it is rubbing or grinding. I have looked under the truck and everything is tight. I took it back to the dealer and they said it is just something this exhaust does. I know for a fact it shouldn't do this. It only does it on left hand turns.

Has anyone had this issue and can point me in the right direction? Any help would be appreciated.

Check and make sure the exhaust hangers are all secure

Yes they were all secure and barely had any movement.

Can you tell where it's rubbing?

I crawled all under there and everything looks secure and dont see anywhere it could rub. When I turn hit sounds like a rubbing/grinding noise when I hit the gas only in left turn.

Sure it's not your tires on the fender liner?

yeah I am positive. Truck has 2000 miles on it and the only mods I have done is this exhaust. It only makes the noise while turning and hitting the gas. If I coast in the turn it does not make the sound. Thanks for asking, I figured someone else might have run into this issue.

Well, if the exhaust is colliding with the frame you'll find that black grease under coating on it. I haven't heard of this problem. But I think my truck had a similar noise when I was in "auto" on my 4x4 selector and hit the gas in gravely shoulder.

I'm sorry I failed you sir.

Yeah they wanted me to drive it so they could hear the noise. They heard and felt it and said it was part of having the exhaust and didnt want to put it on the lift . Its not too bad just damn annoying. Ill take it back in when I get back from my vacation.

Hey, check the clearance way up front where the flex section is. There is a cross member that's pretty

Close on mine

Louie, so closer to the motor? I will check it tomorrow! I didnt look up that way but I did towards the mid section to rear.

I bet its the first hanger mount where the cat-back connects to the fame mount. The extra long Borla flex fitting allows for the most movement so when you turn left the exhaust hanger hits the frame.

more than likely you'll need to get bend the hanger away from the frame a bit, good ol' pry bar should do the trick.

Yeah. I went and looked at mine and it's pretty close too. I took a hose clamp and put it around the hanger and winched it up tight.

I see it and where it is rubbing. It's hard to get around the pipe to bend the hanger up to get it way from the side. I put a thick piece of rubber on the metal arm going through the hanger and it helped. Not to try and find a permanent fix. Thank you very much for your help!
