This might have been covered already but I can't find anything

Will notching the frame on my 16 void warranty?

I am not exactly sure what you mean by 'notching'.. but if you mean cutting the frame in anyway, if GM were to see it, yes it voids the warranty. GM could claim many things changed as a result of cutting a frame from frame strength, stiffness of the vehicle or changes in vibration frequency resulting in NVH changes.

Not a very specific answer, but I think you understand the point. Any change to something structural is an easy out for GM to claim voided

If I were looking at purchasing a used vehicle and saw a "notched frame", I would run away from the dealership that tried to sell it.

Check with the Dealership where you purchased the truck. If they do the modification they might honor subsequent warranty claims. If it is a modification they refuse to do, chances are future related problems will be for you to repair!

8" drop is gonna void the suspension (leveling, lifting and lowering can void) and possibly the powertrain side (driveshaft and axle angles) of the warranty anyway. If you took it in for a clunk noise, they can reject on the basis of the drop kit.

If you are gonna drop 8", what's a frame notch gonna hurt at that point?

Ya. Looks like I'll have to stay at 7 and under then
