My first pickup truck

I agree - it's a huge eye sore ... its amazing how different the truck looks with the front grill wrapped. I left the innner grill slots chrome to blend in with the rest of the truck. Came out perfect.

I'm in the minority on this forum. I miss the chrome.. would have gone with the High Country but I wanted black interior. Congratulations on the truck. You will love it.

My biggest problem was the addiction to modding. Now that they are gone, I feel actually relived. It was someone of a very bad hobby or habit. I was always thinking about the cars.

I did see the SC ... thank god it's a lease.

I'm aware of this problem, although I never had it with my cars. I got into firearms a couple years ago, telling my wife that I only wanted "one". Needless to say, that got out of control, even more than she truly knows.

I think the 17's come with black now on the HC. I think I read that here.

She will kill me. Already getting heat for the front grill wrap.

Be careful running true duals. They limit the low end torque on the truck. And as previously stated trucks are highly customizable. Even performance wise. Did you get 2wd or 4wd I can't remember. I love seeing 2wd low ( not lowered) race trucks. Also welcome to the forum great place here!

But it sounds so good... YouTube Tunnel Ram True Dual by Kinney Exhaust. It's amazing.

I have the 4WD

the black nose looks awesome, reminds me of an LTZ Z71 for some reason. :D

That's the look I went for. Wish the HC came stock like that or a option at least to color match. It was just way too much chrome for me.

Overall i like it. Not sure how i like leaving the chrome bars only because it is not even, 1 top and 2 lower. Maybe swap something aftermarket in there to make it look slightly more even. Question on the tint, why 5% on 4 sides and only 25% out back? The rear sides are now darker than anything else. I like running limo too but these days i use it on the rear 3 windows and legal on the front 2. Having it on the back window blocks headlights nicely.

Good idea on the front, I left it as it's harder to wrap and I figured with the chrome on the truck it wouldn't look to bad. The top bar is perfectly aligned with the chrome inside of the lights. You're right about that bottom portion.

For time, all 4 windows are equally tinted. With the rears being tinted glass from factory. We just added 20% over it and that produced the same shade as the fronts.

I used to do all sides and rear windows in limo but a few friends of mine who are officers recommended that I don't do the rear window in limo to avoid citations and safety issues. I did it on my M5 and not once was a ever pulled over for tint and when I am pulled over the officers are able to clearly see through my rear windows and are able to see inside. I was also able to see out the back without any issues.

Also, with light coming in the front and back, the limo isn't as dark as you'd expect since the rear is lighter. I can still see out at night and people can see a shadow depending on how much light is showing through.

Nice lookin' truck. I really like that black car next to your truck in the garage too!

Love it too ... my buddy just received his CTSV this weekend. The one in the garage is an ATSV.

Ok. I thought you said all 4 sides had limo put on them and only 25 on the rear facing window. I was thinking limo on clear front two limo on factory tinted rear side two and 25 on far back. I ran all limo on all windows for years here in tx also. Got pulled over a couple times and one ticket. Funny thing is i was dressed in uniform and on my way to police academy when i got the ticket. He told me "you should know better". These days i am older and no longer in law enforcement and only see it as probable cause to be pulled over. Would suck to have a beer or two at dinner get pulled over for window tint and go to jail for dwi.

All 4 are 5%. Fronts got 5% and rears got 20% on top of factory tint giving me 5% look. All 4 match. The rears I added tint to make it darker but still visible.

My brother is an officer is Detroit and always criticizes me for my choices lol

We are on the same page. I did tint for a while back in the day too. I was thinking 5% on top of the factory tinted glass on rear sides.

Dang that looks great man! Let us know what else you have planned for your beast

Thanks bro - my next thing is a bed cover. Looking at the G2 backflip unless you guys can convince me to go a different route. Hate to spend 1k if there is something comparable out there for half the costs.

I really like this exhaust system too ... it could be the Audio quality but I haven't heard anything similar to this. Just sounds sick

Nice! I like how you left a bit of the chrome... Looks good that way.

Thanks - figured it would look best with the rest of the chrome on the truck.

    • We have now!  2027 GMC Sierra  Early look, but I'm a GMC guy and so far I think I like the looks of the Chevy better.
    • HD at the moment, are kinda their own deal.  How LTZ sells on those vs on 1500, there is a difference.   They are merging most of the mid trims on 1500.  LT, RST and LTZ are replaced by one trim, Silverado.  LT and RST are a BIG portion of sales.    Bad naming choice aside, the new Silverado trim will offer the spread of options that those three trims offered.  So expect to see things like the tech package for example, and memory seats.  And LT Trail Boss will now just be "Trail Boss" (formerly LT Trail Boss) but will offer content spread like the new Silverado trim will.  The press photos showed the Trail Boss (formerly LT Trail Boss) has access to Super Cruise now, which on the current truck was High Country only.       Here is the Trail Boss interior.  Memory seats and Super Cruise are present.  All things the LT Trail Boss it replaces, and the RST it was based on didn't get on the current gen.  You had to go to LTZ or ZR2 for memory seats, and High Country for Super Cruise.
    • I installed a Hellwig rear sway bar on my 21 Sierra SLT, it made a huge difference on how the truck handles, no body roll, the trucks much more planted now. Not sure of the suspension differences between the 21 and 26,  if its body roll your having a sway bar will solve it.
    • So a follow up and my fix. I found in online searches the live data to look at on a scan tool to verify the fuel tank pressure sensor was working.  It showed an spec number towards the lower end of the rang, but in spec.  Then while it was running opened the gas cap and the pressure should change.  It didn't change even a tiny bit.  The data for the purge valve said it was open...never changed. So then I measured the voltages on the plug for the fuel pressure sensor and they matched what it should be.  So local car quest parts had the sensor in stock...it was a bit of a pain to remove and an even bigger one to get it to actually go back in.  It helped to unbolt the driveshaft and bungie cord away from the gas tank to give a bit more room to work. So fuel tank pressure sensor in I cleared the code, and started it up.  I went to the scan tool's live data and... Eureka! The pressure number was different and fluctuated a bit.  So took it on a short drive and pressure number varied saw the purge valve go from closed to open and back to closed.  Drove it to and from work for roughly a week plugged in the scan tool no codes.  I took it in to get tested and passed.  In my state's infinite wisdom (oops meant greed), since I pushed the test with the maximum extensions I have to take it back in by Feb '27 to 'get it back up to date', then my next test won't be until Feb '29.
