2014+ license front plate adapter?

My truck never came one. How hard are they to install? Not finding any videos...

Looks like 4 rivets on the back side of mine.

On the 14 and 15 Sierra's this piece comes out with some 8 or 10mm bolts from behind and I think everything you need to mount a tag is already behind the "filler".

 

My 14 didn't come with the filler so I had to buy it and it just mounted with 4 10mm bolts I think.

Really? So I can just remove mine and then I don't have to buy another GM piece that's 30+ dollars lol

Yes you just remove the filler piece as circled above from a 14 or 15 year model and there is a flat surface to mount a tag. They changed that piece in 16 to be solid and you have to mount something there now. I'm glad we don't have to have front tags here.

Yeah which sucks! I bought my truck from a state that requires a front license plate. So instead of giving the buyer the option they automatically installed the tag bracket on my 2016 which rivets on instead on bolting on like the previous style.

 

So for anyone with a 2016 that was wondering.. that ended up costing me 300+ in parts and labor I think. I had to buy the new lower bumper piece to replace the one with 4 holes in it and in order to install it, the front bumper had to come off.
