Best Non-Winter Tires that meets the Snowflake Standard

I have 40,000 kms on my stock SR-A's. They were okay last winter when brand new, but now they are slipping and sliding.

My last truck I put on Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armours that were an all season tire but met winter tire standards as well. I want the same thing for a tire replacement but am looking at options due to cost. Good tires in Canada can easily be $1500+ a set. I liked the good years but just shopping around.

Looking at these types:

Anyone have preferences or pros and cons to each? I know KO2's are popular. They can get heavy and expensive.

Thanks in advance.

Check out the Cooper ATW. They're an all season AT similar to the AT3 designed for increased winter traction.

I am looking to try the faulken wildpeak at3w early next year. They look good and have the snowflake. 55,000 mile rates tire.

I have read and heard very good reviews of the Goodyear Adventure. I came very close to buying a set this time, but ended up choosing Michelin Defenders. We don't see many snow days and the Michelins have not let me down for the past 17 years! Jan 17 edition of Consumer Reports magazine is now available and has a good section on tires.

Thanks guys,

I'll look into those Coopers. Sorry for starting another thread, I didn't know this one was moved. Not many Faulken suppliers around here.

I just purchased a set of the Falken at3w tires for my 2014 Z71. I spelled Falken wrong in my previous comment. Discounttiredirect.com is where I bought them, Can't wait to have them installed.

I too have the Cooper A/TW (in P275/55R20). They have the severe snow rating. I got them just before Thanksgiving 2015 so I have a year on them now. I have put just about 30,000 miles and tread is down to between 9/32" and 8/32" (new is 12/32"). Should be able to get 60,000 out of them no problem. They have been good in snow/ice and are very good in rain. Maybe a little bit noisier then the OEM Goodyear SRA's but not much. Would recommend if you are looking for an all-season tire that is good for up north winters.

Here is some good info on them:

Thanks for all the Info, guys. I purchased the Cooper ATW today.

All of the good reviews and 25% off sale pushed me in that direction. I'll get them installed later this week and let you know how I like them! I

went from 265's up to 275's so I'm excited to see the bigger tires on the truck. Should fill out the wheel wells nicely!

I got to try them in the wet today for the first time. I'm really happy with the grip.
