Adding Seat Recall

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this has been covered already, I tried a search but didn't see anything.

Is it possible to add seat recall without interaction from a dealership or does it require programming after adding the buttons in?

If it does not require the dealer, where could I find the module/addon for a 2015 Silverado?

No. GM has to perform all recalls. It is noted in the computer after it is completed or declined. No way around it.

Don't quote me on it, but I read on here when looking for the dl3/dl8 mirror upgrade that someone tried to upgrade to the seat recall and the bcm would need to be programmed and there was a harness missing under the seats along with a fuse in the fuse block. I'll look around for it, try to send it to you.

The OP is referring to memory seat recall if I'm not mistaken.

Correct. What is required to add this?

No idea, but I'd like to know myself.

not possible without BCM programming from what I read awhile back. The BCM stores the seating position from what someone had posted up.

would probably have to add all the modules, then have someone like MVI re-program the BCM for you.

It was me. :) In my quest in upgrading my DL8 Mirrors to DL3, I discovered along the way that Seat Memory will MOST likely not be achievable.

1. There is a K40 - Seat Memory Module that goes under the drivers seat.

2. There is a Seat Memory Door Handle Module that has the buttons for seat recall.

3. You'll need the full DL3 Mirror Harness Set for Driver and Passenger

4. You'll need the Door Panel Trim Harness (the harness that is in the door panel itself that connects to the switches) for Driver and Passenger

5. You'll need a new Passenger Window Switch that contains the DL3 content.

6. You'll need a new Driver Side Seat Harness to Body Harness (goes from the side of the seat to the forward junction box)

7. You'll need the passenger equivalent as in #6

Once you have ALL these parts, then take a trip to the Dealer to be told "NO" we cannot reprogram your BCM.

Ask me how i know :)

IF you manage to get ALL these parts, there might be a BCM reprogram that might be done by GTPrix. I stopped when I got the #4 on the list and gave up trying.

Hope this helps.
