Aftermarket Brake Pads

Anybody swap out their stock pads in their 2014+ GM 1/2 ton truck?

 

The stock pads seem to not have a great deal of bite.

I know stopping distance isn't a forte of 5500+ trucks but any improvement is a help, plus I'd like to see a bit better initial bite as there isn't a lot in the stock pads.

 

So who knows of a good aftermarket pad that works on the GM trucks that improve bite and stopping power without adding a ton of dust. A good ceramic pad would be great.

Odd, both my 2014 and my 2016 trucks have some of the best brakes I have seen for a truck. Great initial bite and along with power, modulation and feel.

Think I'm going to go with the PowerStop's

I've used them before and they were quite good.

Try EBC extra duty brake pads. Look them up and I think you'll be impressed with what goes into them.

I actually did look them up the other day. Seemed great and I've known of EBC for some time, I use to drive by their "new" building in the San Fernando Valley when they opened it up like 7-8 years ago.

I just have never used them and don't know personally too many people who have either.

But I'll give them another look.

I just put EbC pads and rotors on the rear of my truck. Seem fine but they squeak like crazy
