2014 Silverado hard suspension

As stated in my first introduction post going from a Cadillac all wheel drive to the pick up truck scene.

The ride of my truck is very hard, pretty sure it has a lot to do with the all terrain tires, they are bf Goodrich all terrain LT/275/55/r20's came new on the truck.

All help is appreciated.

I will not be off roading at all with this truck, pulling trailer too and from race tracks, work and outings with the kids and wifey.i know I will never get the ride of the cadi but it seems very bumpy can feel every crevice in the roads in the New England area, not to mention the road noise coming from the tires I like the quiet ride.

Any help with good quiet tires to good suspension I'm all eyes and ears.

The Z71 shocks (Rancho) are definitely stiffer than the other shocks GM offers. Look into Bilstein shocks to soften up your ride.

I put Bilstein 4600 series on my 15 to replace the factory "soft ride" or whatever technology they built into them. I honestly think the fronts stockers had completely seized. The factory ones were smooth for a few months, but I think something went bad when driving for a few weeks around 0 deg F, it may have been the internal oil viscosity not playing nice with the special dampening valves the stock fronts have.

The Bilsteins are firm, but don't give you the fear of splitting your dashboard in half when going over small bumps. I tow our 1700lb trailer about 4000 miles a year and the truck handles very well with the 4600 series.

Have you checked your tire pressure? Shops have a tendency to max the tire pressure and that will also create a stiff ride...

You're not alone! My truck has an extremely stiff front end. I have to crawl over speed bumps to keep from hitting the ceiling with my head!

It doesn't kill me though. Apart from that, the truck drives really nice at speed and seems to handle off road scenarios with ease. Of course, my other car is a Camaro, which has pretty stiff suspension. Coming from a Cadillac, I'm sure it feels like a stake body work truck!

4600 if stock height and onroad most of the time.

5100 if leveled and better for off-road.

5100 is softer than the 4600 from what I've read.
