Been thinking about a roll up tonneau cover do you guys have and like? Im in cold climate. Tired of bed being full of snow. like the roll up Velcro ones. Going to get a truck cap like the rest of my trucks just can afford a new z series yet. Damn they got expensive since I bought my 11. Traded it in with cap.

Roll up Velcro gets old quick, not just metaphorically but literally too.

I live in Florida so the cold climate part I am not an expert in. The problem with most roll ups is that they require small support beams to hold everything up and eventually snow will be too much. Here in Florida we only see torrential down pours so they quickly flow off. I prefer the roll up kind that does not snap or Velcro. The brand i prefer and have used is only available on eBay currently(i'd post a link but my work computer blocks ebay). "Advanation" is their eBay store name. I have had 3 of their cheapest tops, $120, on 3 different trucks and the top outlasted my relationship with the prior 2 trucks. I did have a trip up north once and came outside to 6 inches of snow on my tonneau and that was help up just fine.

That being said, i also have gained interest in these newer tri-fold tonneaus i just have not purchased one yet. My judgement was clouded by prior experience instead of checking reviews to see if their was just another way. Anyway my friend has this cover and its pretty sweet and has great reviews, all while being cheap.

I have a Tonno Pro tri fold that I like very much and seems like it will last. It is on my 2016 so I haven't had it long. I live in the North East and also get a decent amount of snow. They also have a hard version also. I bought it online for $279 and it had a $50 mir at the time so not overly expensive.

I will give a good review of the TruXedo Lo Pro

As a resident of a snowy region, I can say i have never doubted my cover's ability to hold up to a snowfall. Granted if you park outside in a blizzard, you may want to brush the snow off every 12" or so, lol.

But I really like how this one keeps tension on the cover at all times, so it doesn't sag like ones that just velcro along the tailgate. also, its fast to open up if you want access to the bed.

I frequently haul things in my truck, so I don't like the solid folding ones. But if you never need it open, maybe that is a route you want to go.

thank you guys. I will look into them.

Have a Merry Christmas.

I've had an Access Lorado tonneau cover for a few years now and happy with how well it holds up. They have a 5-year warranty as well.

I also like the way it fits, lower profile, still has access to bed grab-holes, and rolls up easy.

I've got the BAK Revolver and love it in summer, not in winter. I don't really keep anything in the box I need to worry about getting wet, mine leaks a fair amount, mainly from the front corners.

When it gets around 25-30 degrees or so, it's hard to roll up, the colder it is, the harder it is to roll up - like trying to roll up a frozen stiff rug. Once you manage to roll it up, it does not seat in the rails when you roll it back down - you need to go to the front of the box and pound it down every few inches all the way to the back on both sides - the colder it is outside, the worse it is.

Other than that, it's a good cover.

Steamboat, CO, actually. I love Houghton though. I'd like to go up for LSPR someday.

Steamboat......i was way off. I have skied there once though. LSPR is a good time. I did media there. Got some wild footage. We traded our footage for in-car footage of a sweet rollover.

Any opinions on the BAK Revolver X2 or the Titanium Truxedo rolling hard covers?

Ive had the roll x by bak industries. Ive had 3 actually. I have the 6 foot one for sale. I no longer own the truck. I presently have the the gm brand one on my truck now. I like them a lot. we don't get snow very often in texas but the durability is good. I think the ad for them use to have a person and a alligator on the bed cover to demonstrate the weight capabilities. I personally would not try that but that's advertisement. I like it better than a soft cover but they are a little pricey. its just aluminum slats with vinyl over them that allows it to roll up. Its a good product.

Rolling the dice on a Revolver X2 return warehouse deal one from amazon. Guarenteed to be fine they say. Price was good enough to try. Crossing fingers.

Ordered the Bakbox too and also a couple Amp Bedstep2s to get in the darn thing lol.

    • On 2021 3500hd it consistently sets automatically when selecting park if the incline/decline is above a certain angle.
    • Curious, did anyone ever get a fix for the vibration reported here.   I have a 2024 Silverado with 6.6 duramax.   I’m noting the same vibration resonating up through the steering shaft into the steering wheel.    Best way to describe- like someone is tapping on the steering shaft/components and it’s resonating into the steering wheel.    thanks.
    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions?
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
