DiamondBack SE Line-X Black Finish

Hi,

First time posting!

I bought my first truck ever, a 2016 1500 GMC CC Denali Standard Bed a few months back. I'm really itching to get a Tonneau cover. I have finally decided on the DiamondBack SE w/ the Black Finish. I believe that goes by the name Line-X.

Every place I have looked online has this for $1500 shipped. Does anyone know where or how I can get it cheaper? It's pretty pricey.

I was also debating the RetraxPro, but that seemed even more expensive? I like both..

So I guess my questions are...

  • [MAIN QUESTION] Anybody know where to get either for cheaper?
  • Any fatal flaws with either?
  • Any experience with either?
  • Also what are the differences on the RetraxPro's rails? They have three options?

Thanks!

I've been looking into tonneau covers as well now.

These two should are different style tonneau covers.

The DiamondBack SE is a lid style where you can open it like a lid to get into the bed. This is also w/ the hardest material you can get for a tonneau cover, so no scratches or dents.

The RetraxPro is a painted aluminum style sliding cover. Think of a garage door opening and closing.

So the RetraxPro will give you more access to the full truck bed, but the DiamondBack SE will definitely be more secure/theft proof.

I'd personally go w/ the Retrax Pro, unless you stock tools/work out of your pickup bed.

Shouldn't be any flaws with either of the covers. The DiamondBack SE will definitely be more waterproof/anti-theft proof compared to the Retrax Pro.

The Retrax Pro will be more sleek/stylish and easier to use.

Some rail systems for tonneaus are clamp on, some are permanent, and some come with a tailgate seal.

Just make sure to read the descriptions.

Good luck with the buy!

you might be able to get the Diamondback a little cheaper by calling them up directly.

I contacted them directly and was quoted the same price shipped. Trying to see if they have any discounts available now. It seems like the perfect cover (for my needs at least) since its likely the most "theft proof" thing out there and should take a hell of a beating. I often go out to dinner after a day at the range so I want to know that I can secure the firearms in the truck without having to sacrifice the space inside the cab.

Trying to decide between the SE and HD right now. I don't currently have a atv but who knows what the future holds :)

does an ATV weigh more than 400lbs?

Weight will obviously vary by manufacture, but Polaris for example specs start out over 600lbs.

Thanks for the info!

I realize they are two different styles and both have a nice look.. The DiamondBack being more rugged and the Retrax Pro more sleek. I've read the Diamondback is very easy to remove the panels by one person, but if you had to remove the RetraxPro you need two people for sure.

Also for the quality and what you're getting the Diamondback seems to be a better deal, by a few hundred bucks?

oh, yeah you'll need the HD version if you go that route. lol
