Coilovers, UCAs and wheel backspacing question

Hey Guys,

Wondering if anyone running coil overs and UCAs can share their wheel size, specifically backspacing, and if they had any trouble clearing the UCAs with that setup?

For some background, ideally I would like to run King 3.0s, Mazzulla UCAs and Fuel Maverick 20x9 +1, which has 5" of backspacing. However, Mazzulla, and all of the other UCA manufacturers that I can find claim you can't run anything greater than 4.75" BS. Icon does claim up to 5" BS so I may just have to go that route but in the mean time hoping to get some real world experiences of go/no go setups.

Thanks in advance!

Could be wrong but I think it also has a lot to do with wheel diameter

That's why I find it interesting that all the UCA manufacturers list arbitrary BS numbers instead of something like "Max X backspacing on Y Diameter Wheel"

I will let you know when I put my UCA on how it looks I have factory 20"

I'd appreciate it. Looking forward to seeing how it works out for you.

Yes I find it odd too. There is a tool where they can physically measure what tire and rims work with a suspension. It's around $600.00. So I imagine that's cheaper and more informative than trying different combos.

Backspacing can stay the same....you need to decide what offset to wheel width to meet BS minimums on the minimum wheel size. (17, 18 etc)

Differences in each brands arms is expected, some are boxed, some tubular. Also uniball or balljoint. Even uniball size 1" to 1.25" can affect clearance.

Yeah I get it but a 20" wheel and a 17" wheel that are the same width, offset and backspace don't have the same clearance. That's what's in question here regarding aftermarket UCA's

Pretty sure even stock uppers are limited to 17" or larger due to brakes. Not 100% sure though
