Additional bed lighting

Something I found out today... Grote's micronova "dot" light fits perfectly snug into this little cavity! Had a couple laying around and it makes an excellent addition for bed lighting

looks good. my truck came with bed lights , two on each side . i also added a 30" led strip across the front , and spice it into one of the sid lights. NO need for a flashlight at night.

Nice!

Does it interfere with the stake pocket?

Where did you wire them?

Pictures in the dark... :D

Not hardly any interference at all! I wired them into the existing bed lights...that I didn't even know I had LOL. Just got this truck and got such a good deal on it, the salesman didn't even show me any of the features, so I'm still learning it! I had intended on running a couple strips of lighting under the rails, but discovered the factory lights today...so we'll see how they look! I also have some marker lamps that are the same ones used on the grilles of the Raptor, just in white...they fit in the oval caps VERY nicely as well! Only have the amber one here...waiting on the whites!

Those are pretty impressive and look pretty simple to do. Great job!

Thanks! They were incredibly easy. They're meant for 3/4" holes, which is exactly what those are. The grommets fit right in there and the wiring for the existing bed lights drop down right behind the tail lights...super quick to tap into! All in all it was about a 30-45 minute install process. Ordered hard tri-fold cover, so these lights will really help with just opening the back panel!

I just finished installing the "Factory" bed lights in my new 2017. Was basically easy but the worst part was actually screwing them into the side rails. Tedious job in very close quarters. I've ordered a set of the Grote lights from Amazon. I'm planning on putting them further down the bed rails so I can see with the bed cover on.

I could imagine. When I built cars, I hated laying on my back to do any work, especially under/inside a dash or something!

The Grote lights have an option for a "hood" on the dot light. It doesn't do much of anything for the range of light I'm using it for in the bed, but it's nice to not have it shining in your eye when you're standing above it. Plus no screws!
