Fergy04 Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Need help bought a 2005 Suburban Z71 service 4wd light on and is stuck in 4wd auto. Tested dash switch found it was bad replaced switch still have same problem so replaced encoder motor with delco encoder motor ,when tested dash switch light up as transfere case in neutral pressed dash button to turn motor to auto to install light just flashes and encoder motor doesn't turn , So replaced the TCCM still has same problem. It is a aftermarket TCCM so came preprogrammed. Pulled trec fuse with old encoder motor installed and could here axle actuator motor working but that's it any help would be appreciated.

Knotsure Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 When changing the encoder motor, does that include the encoder motor sensor? I guess it would right. I had service 4wd issues and found it was that little donut sensor. Just checking, good luck. 2014 Chevy silverado Z71 DCSB w/Bilstein 5100 level
Fergy04 Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 Yes the new unit included the sensor, Just seems strange that with all parts changed there is communication between the dash switch and the encoder motor because it will show the position of the encoder motor but will not change it ? As for scanning it $100 for scan $130 for replacement harness which is only part that hasn't been changed? Tough call on that one thanks for the replies.
