LOL!! Just ordered mine this morning too! I've been wanting to get one to save the leather on the seat and this thread got me motivated I guess....

I got mine as a birthday gift and installed it in 5 minutes this past weekend as it was so easy. As someone else said, be careful of the windshield as I hit it once, thankfully not very hard to crack or break it. I am still getting used to it actually being there to use, as I've forgotten to use it more than 65% of the time after it was installed. DOH! lol

Does the new handle slide on to any guide rails or do you just hold it in place to the bolt holes line up, secure the bolts, and are done?

It clips onto the frame bracket where the old one came off of and then you'll thread the bolts. You don't have to hold it up there while trying to thread the bolts.

Thanks. I just ripped the old one off without paying much attention to how it was held on haha.

Bottom has a tab that inserts and then the bolts hold it

It has 2 tree clips and 1 other mounting point. Took about ten mins to install today.

Sure wish one would fit on my 2016 Tahoe, but, alas, GM didn't provide the brackets the handle screws on.

Enjoy, truck folks.

Anybody else have a sliiiiiiight gap at the top? Mine seems to sit a hair lower than the old one and creates a tiny gap by the windshield.

I've already got the covers for the bolts though and didn't want to risk marring it by trying to take them off and adjusting it.

There shouldn't be any gap. Mine fit just as the other trim piece did. Are the bolt holes lines up properly? I had to spent a few minutes getting frustrated with it to ensure it was lined up properly and that all the edges lined up.

Yeah I spent some time getting it all lined up. The bolts were good to go and went in straight. Maybe "gap" isn't the right word to put it. It just didn't butt up as tight as the right one did on the top. If I pull on the headliner a bit it snugs up to it nice and tight though.

I could get it tight against the headliner without the bolts but once the bolts went in, it settled to where it's at now. It's mainly the top corner where it meets the windshield, if it was curved in a little more, I wouldn't have any issues. I looked at the passenger side and it's not clipped or wedged into anything on that side either so I dont believe I missed a tab there.

I've been looking at photos online and it looks like some people have the same thing going on so I'm not so worried, maybe just a little nitpicky.
