MAX 360 ESCORT MOUNTED RADAR DETECTOR

I just looked into this and the reduced price is $290. I think for that much I would just buy a new one and use one as a backup... not much of a discount IMO.

It's very hard to use an old one if it doesn't have the updates.

The new ones are quiet compared to what you have.

When you get near a car that has the lane departure and object in mirror detection warnings etc... it's going to go nuts.

Hi Everyone,

I am interested in buying the max 360 radar detector for my 2016 sierra i was wondering if anyone has already installed one into there truck? I am worried about the size of the unit. I like all of the features the 360 has to offer, however I am worried it is going to stick out and look out of place. Anyone have any pictures?

Hey, I'm seeing your post a bit late, but I have a 360 mounted in my truck. It's been working great. There are some trade offs when compared to other detectors, but the false alerting isn't the item I'd choose to use if I were crapping on this detector. It's stellar in that department, from my experience. The two places I have any gripes, and they're small gripes, are the paid service and the directional indicator speed.

The paid service just sucks, I paid plenty for the detector and don't think they need a monthly fee from me to mine my data and sell it elsewhere. Thankfully the service isn't required, and I don't pay for it.

The directional indicator used to be really bad. It would take forever for it to change from a front radar detection to rear when you passed a LEO. There was an update that greatly improved this, however. It's not instant, but it's decent now.

I don't know what the others are talking about with locking out police radar... the same gun/car would have to be sitting in the same spot 3 times when you drove by for that to happen and not have been missing any times in between. I also don't know if it can lock out KA, which the majority of LEOs use now. I guess someone could press the mute button 3 times and lock one out if it did allow KA lockouts.

Parting piece, it's the nicest thing to be able to drive around town with a quiet detector. When it alerts, you know with 95% certainty that there's a LEO around. Distance detected may be 2nd to the V1, but not by too far, and the feature set more than make up for it when you consider its all in one unit.

Nothing wrong with the V1, it just wasn't for me.

As for wiring mine, I have it tied into the RAP located in the driver fuse panel with an add a fuse. I use a remote mute button that feeds my detector. Works great. Just ran the wire up behind the driver side behind the a pillar airbag and over to the mirror where my detector is mounted. I'll take a picture tomorrow if I get a chance.

How exactly do I get to the wires required to do the wiretap. Is there a specific plastic piece I need to remove? Can somebody give me detailed instructions?

Red tap is in the top connection, second from the left. Black tap is in top connection, furthest to the right.

Where is that wiring harness located? Do I need to remove some plastic pieces around the mirror? Can you give me detailed instructions? Thanks!

You can probably sell your old one on eBay and get more for it etc...

For some reason they tend to sell well on eBay.

Ditto. Sold my 10 year old one on eBay for 250 and bought a new one for 359. Love my V1.

This is what my 360 looks like mounted. It's a big detector, but it ends up working just fine in my truck. Good luck!

Messaged you. Rearview mirrors connection/wiring. 2 plastic pieces, one is simple slide down, other is a hard pry pop off.

Hopefully will be able to follow up with a video soon.

Do you have SLT or SLE?

Hot wire should be top row second from the left.

Ground wire should be bottom row furthest to the right side.

SLT all Terrain x

As long as you don't have lane departure system, follow my video above for installation. It will be the exact same.

Thanks only issue I had was the plugs kept coming out of the extension.

Will work in it more later but it's working.

Mine has been working great for a few months following the video above. Thank you again!
