Infotainment Center

I would if I could! I like a lot of the infotainment features but I don't understand why they make it so hard or impossible to add "simple" stuff like steering wheel controls which I didn't get on my LS (silly me I thought I could easily add those later!).

I never knew they had radio dvr which would be a cool feature for me especially when I'm listening to a game and missed something.

On a side note a family friend owns the Chevy dealership and my wife actually works there but the F&I guy still tried to sell me on the "bullet list"!

the "bullets" are the F&I's chance to make some commission on a flat rate deal. I think they would try to sell them to their mom's. I agree with the info system, it at this point should be like a PC or smart device where things can be updated to the current year/specs. if the price were right, I would probably upgrade every couple of years just to be current on the technology.

Yeah he didn't make any commission on financing like he normally would and we got the family deal so he had to take a shot at making something somewhere (I agree those guys would try to sell that crap to their mother!)

I agree at this point these things should be easily upgradeable (is that even a word?!) with the latest technology and as with you I'd be happy to pay to do so!

Hey, just throwing this in... A good reason one 16 radio acts similarly to a 15 and another doesn't... they were using the old HMI units for a while from what I understand. I know some got CarPlay, and others didn't. That was a big indicator. That and the $200 credit on the window sticker. I don't know how similar they were otherwise, but it's a plausible reason for them being different amongst the same model year.

Not sure about the "bullet list"....crazy guy in the F&I told me I was nuts to pass on an extended warranty and then started talking about hacking people to death with a hatchet. Kinda came out of left field. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

You're right around the cutoff. They ran out of the newer one, so the later the build, the less chance you have. You can tell by looking at your home screen. The newer radios have a Projection icon. The older ones won't. Beyond that, I'm not too sure of the difference.

Mine was built in June 2016 and it has the projection icon along with Carplay, AndroidAuto and Sirius but it is the base 7" IOB with no cd player!

I do have the projection app for Apple CarPlay. my truck is 2016 cutting edge, not so sure about me.

Yeah, from what I understand, the later ones didn't get it. I wonder how close theirs is to the 15 software.

I don' t know if this was ever noticed before, but on the infotainment center, if you touch the digital clock, the screen will change to a analog clock. I thought it was pretty cool.

I had no clue.....nice!
