My 2008 Sierra GMC has a trunk button?? I've had trucks all my life maybe not as new as this one. What is the trunk button? Yes I did read the manual, no it didn't say anything about that button. Could someone inlighten me on this? I have asked a few people no one seems to have any idea.

I suspect he means trunk button on the remote and that somebody programmed a wrong replacement at one point.

Maybe it is the sunroof button.

I am not sure, but I would imagine if they came with a sunroof, you could open it with a push of a button!

Yeah somebody programmed an Impala Key FOB to your truck or somebody replaced a broken case with something he had hanging around, they all uses the same circuit board inside.

Oh crap you weren't talking about your FOB. Probably only hooked up on a Suburban or Tahoe

I could be wrong but I don't think that is OEM equipment. I'm assuming since you have just recently noticed the button and it's a 2008 model that you bought this truck used? Maybe the previous owner had a cap with a power release and that button was added for it? That yellow button looks nothing like the lift-gate release buttons I've seen on that generation of GM trucks and SUV's.

Looks like the trunk button that was on my 94 impala ss. My guess is that someone added it to operate some kind of after market item.
