I happen to work in a shop and use Napa's house brand (which turns out to be Valvoline). I get it for about $2.50 a quart when our local Napa has monthly sales. Last time around I bought 2 cases (24 quarts, 3 oil changes), 3 filters AND a gallon or two of rain-x washer fluid for under 100 bucks. Not a bad deal..dexos approved

Most oils on the store shelves are referred to as commodity oils. Meaning they are the same as other oils of the same type from other oil companies. Its difficult to differential between them because they all meet the same specification, no more, no less.

Traded the K+N filter in for a Mobil1 oil filter. I saw a few reports that the K+N oil filters are leaker's and was looking at the nut that they weld on the end and decided not to take a chance.

I looked more closely at the Mobil1 containers that I had bought and realized I had picked up the Mobil1 Advanced fuel mileage formula and not the Mobil1 Extended Performance. They did not have any Extended performance 0W-20 on the shelf so i got the Valvoline SYNPower 0W/20 $22.47 for a 5 quart container.

I have already turned in the Mobil1 rebate hopefully they will not be mad because I returned it to the store and will still send me some cash?

I saw a Mobil1 product marked as Annual protection on the shelf at Walmart that said it was good for 1 year and 20,000 miles. It was outrageously priced at about double any other Full Synthetic oil. Not sure I would ever be comfortable with a 20,000 mile oil change interval...... I get antsy once I get to over 5000 miles no matter what the oil life monitor says.

Maybe elcamino and the old TV commercial are right? "MOTOR OIL IS MOTOR OIL"

Mobil 1 from Walmart for $25 per 5 quart jug combined with $12 rebate from Mobil (https://mobiloil.com/en/promotion/mobil-promotions/up-to-15-dollars-off-with-mobil-1-and-mobil-super). Walmart isn't on the participating retailer list but I have gotten the rebate 4 times now (along with members on the BITOG forum).

Wal-Mart online had a flash sale today for Mobil 1 EP 0w-20 for $15.85 for a 5 quart jug. Taking the $15 rebate into account, I scored 2 jugs at $.85 each.
