My buddy was riding his bike and a guy with a train horn honked at him going the other direction on a two lane road in the country, and completely destroyed his left ear drum. Hasn't been able to hear out of it correctly since. Screw you guys and your train horns.

I think you guys need to lay off of grizz_wi. I see no problem with having a train horn as long as you are responsible since they are very loud. In fact, I want one so I can get the attention of all the dummies around here who are too busy with their phones to drive.

Lol I don't care I haven't used them to scare anyone like I did a few years ago,mainly for parades and people that cut me off. It's more unique than anything

I had a Kleinn train horn setup on my last truck. Loved it. I'd get another if I had the money. I never used it to be a dick and scare people, just scared the people that cut me off or who deserved it.

Yeah that's a completely BS story, not enough db to cause hearing damage unless it was sustained for minutes and he was a lit closer than that

A ship horn maybe, definitely not a train horn.

I disagree with this. Me being in audio. A single.tweeter will cause more damage to your ears than let's say 4 15s or 4 18s because of the frequency. It just depends on the frequency

I'm a former car audio installer and a former host of db drag competitions.

I also represented 12 residential properties in a property tax hearing in regards to train horns reducing property values, which included a 100 page case study on train horns and their economic impact.

I also have slight hearing damage because of car audio.

I can assure you, the frequency of the train horn, the db, and the length of time exposed to it is not enough to cause any sort of hearing damage from across the street.
