Window vent annoyance

Recommended Posts

I installed in channel window vents and now I occasionally have issues with not rolling all the way up. It will go all the way up then auto down. I have read this is a safety measure and read that if u use a special up down sequence it will re learn and the issue is eliminated. This hasn't worked for me or I'm doing it wrong. What I tried is rolling down holding down for 5 secs , then up (but it quickly drops 2inches) for 5 secs, then down again for 5 and then back up for 5. What am I doing wrong?

i would suggest reapplying the vents and use 3m auto tape its the strongest they make i thing that have it at walmart clean both areas with alcohol wipes make sure the entire vent is covered in the tape and make sure its installed probably the vent is all the way against in the channel and as soon as you install it roll up window and keep it up for 24 hours so the tape bonds to to 2 surfaces.

It may also help to insert a cardboard shim at each side of the visor to provide a little "extra" clearance while everything settles in.

I also beveled the bottom edges of the side tabs so the glass wouldn't possibly hit the square edge when it went up passed the visor.

I have them, but I haven't had that issue. Those clips were a PITA. make sure those are all the way seated.

i think you might have to turn the key to the on position.

i reprogrammed mine, but i've found a couple times now where it'll roll back down. kind of annoying

Even when I hold it up it will automatically go down about 2 inches. Again it only happens sometimes. Most of the time when I hold it up its all good.
