Corner step removal and replacement

Anyone know how to remove and replace these? Please tell me they can be removed without taking the bumper off. I am talking about the entire corner insert nt just the bottom tread.

I took mine off but I already had the bumper off. I dont see how you could possibly do it without removing the entire bumper. There are like 5 or 6 screws holding them on.

These bumpers are a PITA. You gotta take the whole thing off to replace one simple stupid plastic piece.

You can do it without removing the bumper but you need a wobble extension for your ratchet. I actually removed mine without removing the bumper to install some lights. I found instructions on the Anzo site where they sell replacement lighted steps (I didn't put those in but used the instructions to remove the step cavities):

Where do you find the screws behind the pocket? I see one that holds the slotted tab in but where is the other screw?

Did you wind up having to take the bumper off?  I don’t see any other way to install these.  Frustrating.

the anzo instructions  show how to do it without removing the bumper.  the link from above doesn't work but i saved the pdf when it was on the anzo webpage - hoping i can attach the file....   looks like it worked!  hopefully it will help you out!
